Description

1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon
One Owner
(I'm listing this for the owner.)
This is a decent starter for a restoration or a daily driver. It was last driven regularly about 2 years ago. It runs good, with no known problems with the engine or transmission.
The owner has several vehicles and no longer needs so many. He took this one to have a safety inspection sticker put on, and the tie rods are a little loose, and the tailpipe is rotten. Otherwise, I believe it would have passed. It is currently tagged. The odometer reads 36,636 and is believed to be on it's second round, meaning at least 136,636 miles.
The good:
Salon option package.
Bucket seats. power driver side, it works.
Cassette holder in the console, factory option.
Kenwood stereo.
Power locks/windows.
Tilt and cruise.
Rear window defroster. (unknown if it works, it's 70 degrees today)
Wire wheel covers with locks.
Glass moon roof, factory option. (Rare. 500 made?) inoperable.
A/C. Needs charged.
All original, not hacked up or modified.
Rear frame rails are solid.
Original jack, handle and spare are in place.
Original AM/FM/Cassette radio in the trunk.
Bought new and lived it's entire life in Virginia.
The Not-so-good:
One rusty hole in the right side rocker.
Rear bumper has rust on driver side.
Dent on front bumper, right side bumper guard.
Paint is rough (repainted 10 years ago, original color)
Driver seat has 2 small rips.
Headliner is a little thin but not loose.
Small rust spot on trunk lid.
A/C needs charged.
Tires are old and marginal, but they are still up.
Tie rods did not pass inspection.
Overall, a decent, solid car. It's much better shape than one I sold 4 years ago, and it was in daily use at that time. I believe this car could be a daily driver with some TLC.
I would not recommend trying to drive it home, simply because I haven't driven it, and it has been sitting for several months. Remember, it's a machine, and machines need attention. But I believe it's a good basis for someone to do something with pretty easily.
Again, it's a one-owner car, with a clear title. The original title was lost, and the title is a duplicate, but it still shows the original title date of 6/9/87.
The car is located near Waynesboro, VA and we can arrange to get it to I-81 or I-64 near Staunton, VA for pickup. Delivery is not being offered.
This car is offered with no warranty express or implied.
Buyer is responsible for all transport and title expenses.
Cash at pickup is accepted. US funds only. No checks, money orders, etc. $500 deposit via PAYPAL is required within 48 hours of the final sale time.
Please ask any question you might have, I'll be able to respond in the evenings.
Thanks for looking!
