Description
Another rare barn find: 1962 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Holiday Sport Sedan with original "Wedgewood Blue" metallic blue exterior color with original matching metallic blue interior! According to the dealer I recently purchased it from, this car has spent all of its life in the coastal area of Washington state. It has to have been garaged as the interior indicates no signs of fading or sun damage. An owner's manual and buyer protection booklet come with the car.
I do not know a great deal about this car as I recently purchased it from a long-time classic car dealer in Washington state. I have it stored now in a friend's warehouse not far from where I live in SC. The engine runs smoothly and quietly and the car runs and drives very well. The transmission has been recently rebuilt according to the dealer I purchased it from. All power windows work perfectly as well as the six-way power seat. The original Wonderbar AM radio does not come on, but the rear fender mounted power antenna does work. The car is also equipped with factory AC, and the heater does work. The car also features the popular vacuum trunk release, rear window defogger, and safety sentinel speed buzzer. The original 9.00x14 spare tire is in the trunk with the factory installed deluxe wheel disc retainer clips still intact. A new set of radial tires comes with the car as well as the original spinner wheel covers, which also are in the trunk.
The metallic blue paint is presentable as is and is clearly a repaint of the original color. The trunk shows weak spots in the paint, but the rest of the car looks good. There is some rust on the car on the left rear door and the right rear fender. There may have been rust repairs in the past which I am not aware of. The front bumper has chrome plating delamination and should be replated, although there are no dents in it.
The original interior is very presentable with no rips or tears in the upholstery. The carpeting is clean and the padded dash pad is in mint condition with no cracks. The package shelf behind the back seat is slightly discolored but not warped or broken. There are no seat belts in the car.
I am selling my car due to lack of storage space. My desire is to find a new owner who will enjoy this car and will see that it is preserved. Please email through eBay with questions and I will do my best to answer them. The car is available only to bidders in the continental US, or those in the US who are bidding for customers in foreign countries. A $500.00 deposit through PayPal is due within 24 hours of the winning bid with full payment within 3 days. Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding!
