Description
I purchased this car from the original owner in l994. It was located in Eastern Washington state, which is a desert, so there is no rust on the car. It had 68,000 miles on it when purchased. We drove it down the coast to San Francisco, then over the
Rockies to Rapid City. It did vapor lock going over one of the passes, but it never overheated.
When we got home i had a valve job done and hardened seats were installed. Most of the interior was redone, including dash, headliner, carpets and seats. I have enough new material to do the doors, but did not have it done because they looked pretty good at the time.
I also installed a new windshield with new rubber, and new weather stripping above the doors. All of the other rubber trim looks new, I'm sure the car has been garaged all of its life. I also had it repainted at this time and most of the trim was removed, including the roof
strips. The Coker tires only have about 2,000 miles on them.
I also sent the clock away to be fixed, but the repair only lasted a couple of years. Everything works with the exception of the clock and the power antenna.
About 10 years ago I had a new camshaft installed which improved performance quite a bit. This car runs, drives and steers like it should. It won't win best of show, but has won Peoples Choice.
It is a factory J-2 car, which was not unusual on a station wagon. It had a trailer hitch on it, and we used it to haul the boat to the lake when the kids were young. It will beat any Motorhome up the hills around here.
Two extra spinner wheelcovers are included.
Please give me a call with your questions.
