Description

1990 Olsmobile Toronado Trofeo - Not your father's Oldsmobile Rare and unique luxury sports car. Quick, with great handling and smooth lines. It's a daily driver and turns heads where ever I go. Many a gas pump chat has developed due to the rarity and most think it’s had a custom aero kit installed. Technically I'm the 3rd owner, the second owner having purchased the car from the first owner’s estate. I have maintenance records dating back to the original window sticker and canceled check for the purchase.
Exterior - 7.5/10 - Platinum Metallic - the original owner lived in a gated community and got tagged by the security gate in the right front corner, which punched a hole in the bumper trim (see the pic); beyond that less than normal wear and tear for a vehicle 31 years old. It's sporting Boyd Codington alloy wheels and a new set of Yokohama's (Less than 500 miles on them). The center caps are missing, evidently due to the wheel locks blocking the installation, but can be found online.
Interior 6 of 10. The headliners in these are notorious for separating from the roof board and this one is no different. The grey leather interior is durable, but - for unknown reasons, the passenger side shoulder bolster has odd wear? The steering wheel controls for the radio no longer work, but the ergonomics of the vehicle are such that everything is easily within reach and functional. Non-smoker car.
Mechanical: the car is a daily driver and surprisingly quick. I wouldn't put it on a NASCAR track, but around town, it's a dream to drive. An A/C hose needs replaced, but is within easy reach, otherwise it'll freeze you out with a recharge. The Teves anti-lock brake system was restored, and the front wheel bearings were replaced a couple months ago so it handles like new.
I'm in no hurry to sell so I don't need help selling it. Likewise, don't waste our time if you're a low-baller or tire-kicker. It's a classic/collectable car and qualifies for those NV license plate designations. It'll pass a smog check without issue. The sale is as is, though, and I'll tell you everything I know about it to the best of my abilityit deserves a good home with someone who appreciates the mystique it evokes.
