Description
This is an ideal project for the serious EV enthusiast or collector. This is an AC Propulsion e-Civic built in 1995. The previous owner was an Optima Battery Company engineer and owned the car for 12 years. Previous to him, Southern Cal. Ediston had the car. I have had the car from 05.2012, or for the past three years.
The previous owner removed the batteries for replacement and never reinstalled the pack before selling it to me. As I have never gotten around to working on it, it still has no batteries included. I intended to reinstall a new battery pack and put her back on the road, but have acquired other EV projects and it has come time to admit that I am just not able to get around to this project, hence I am selling it as is, where is. I hope it finds a good home, it is an wonderful EV, and designed and built by ACP makes it highly desirable.
Its traction pack is designed for 28 yellow top Optima batteries (as noted, no batteries included). It has a clear CO title from previous owner as I have never registered it in my name. I has some dents and dings as any 20 year old body would (see pictures). I have deep cleaned the interior, including the carpeting, seats, dash, etc. since these pictures were taken. The windschield is cracked. Please refer exclusively to the pictures for vehicle condition documentation.
Here are some stats on the car: Battery configuration: 28 series connected Optima deep cycle (Yellow Top) batteries D750S. 52 Ah (C/2), 280 W/kg, sealed, maintenance free, ‘Gates’ spiral cell, 1200 lb., actual pack voltage ~ 360 V, pack capacity ~ 16 kWh. The battery pack systems are upgraded battery management system (ACP BatOp) featuring higher voltage balancing. Drive Train: Pure electric 133 HP (100 kW) AC induction motor with integrated on-board charger (110 V or 220 V, standard wall plugs), flat power profile, one gear (no shifting), 165 ft/lb torque (accel.), 105 ft/lb torque (adjustable regen. braking). Performance: 0 - 60 in 10 seconds; top speed 80 mph; 70 - 90 miles range with new pack (70% highway); fast charge < 1 hour with 220 V, 80A RV outlet. There are two battery management computers on-board, both have the ability to download serial data to a PC. Other Features: Cruise control, traction control, adjustable regen (full glide to full regen), 2 kW ceramic heater (for defrost and cabin heat). Other Accessories Included: 12 A load to discharge system, winch for raising and lowering the traction pack, communications cable extender (for testing pack prior to installation), and 4 spare Batops individual battery monitoring units. It has two sets of tires, one as pictured, and a second set of 4 insight spare donuts for rolling it around as needed. Documents included: A.C. Propulsion User Manual (for EV), AC Propulsion BattOp User Manual, and instructions for pack installation. It also has three different versions of the battery charging software (IC chips).
