Description
1972 DeTomaso Pantera, This car was bought new by Playboy Enterprises in 1972. It was originally white. Playboy painted it pink and gave it to the 1972 Playmate of the Year, Liv Lindeland (see pictures). The car is now red and highly modified. The modifications are as follows:
For Looks: All steel GT5 fender flares. A Carbon Fiber hood, deck lid, wing and door panels. 2 piece plastic front and rear bumpers.
The interior looks great. All of the gauges work, even the clock. When I bought the car it had some racing seats in it. They were fine unless you are taller than 5’7”. I installed leather seats out of a ’69 Corvette. They look really nice and give the driver and passenger more room. They are completely redone with new foam and real leather.
For Power: The engine is a 351 Cleveland, stroked to 408 ci. It contains only the best parts and I have all of the receipts. Steel crank, H-Beam rods and Ross Forged Pistons. 10.5 to 1 compression ratio. Full roller cam, lifters and rockers. Edelbrock Victor Jr. CNC Ported Heads and Intake. Holley HP 750 cfm carburetor. Full MSD Distributor and Digital 6 Ignition Box. The exhaust consist of ceramic coated headers with custom mufflers and tips. The car sounds amazing and runs even better. The motor made 498 HP on the Dyno. If that’s not enough and you need to waste a Z06, I installed a Nitrous Express Perimeter Plate System. It’s adjustable from 100-300 HP. It currently has the 100 HP setting on. I’ve only activated it 2 times since installing it, simply to check the A/F ratio and make sure it was set properly and safe. The motor loved it and ran perfectly.
The transmission is the ZF Five Speed. It is connected to chrome Spicer half shafts. The rear wheels are 18” x 13” Campagnolo’s with 335-30-18 Michelin Pilot tires. The fronts are 18” x 8” with Michelin Pilots as well.
These Panteras are known for a poor cooling system. This issue has been addressed. The car has a Fluidyne Aluminum Radiator, Twin Derale Electric Fans and Edelbrock Aluminum Water Pump.
The car’s vacuum brake system has been converted to a Hydro boost Brake System. It also has Wilwood super lite Calipers and two piece rotors. IT STOPS!!
I am sure I’m missing several things. The car is a blast to drive. If you are interested or have questions, please call or e-mail. Larry 405-820-5603 or [email protected]

P.S.
I do not have a letter of authenticity proving that this is the playboy car. I have a letter from a previous owner and the warranty book filled out to Playboy Enterprises with the VIN, Original Dealership, Sales Code, and the date sold. It looks to be the original warranty book. However, since I do not have a Letter of Authenticity, PLEASE purchase the car for what it is and not the Playboy history. I am not trying to misrepresent the car, just providing the information that was provided to me when I purchased the car. I have can provide a copy of the letter from previous owner and a better picture of the warranty book. I tried to add them here but can't. I also have a picture of a post I found online concerning the Playboy car. Someone asks "Whatever happened to the Playboy pink DeTomaso Pantera?", This was posted 4 years ago. The response was "The car is located in Findlay, OH. It is now red and black and has been fully customized." The reply was 3 years ago. I bought the car that is being referenced in Findlay, OH.
