1947 Standard 4-A8 Roadster Tourer
Take a look at this One of a kind 1947 Standard 4-A8 Roadster Tourer brought to you by CARuso Classic Cars. This car was manufactured by Standard Motor Co. of England. This beauty was featured in the 2013 Adirondack Nationals Show video and is pictured in the 2014 Adirondack Nationals Souvenir’s program.
Engine is a Chevy 355 with a 280 H Comp. Cam. 350 Engine was rebuilt when the car was built to a 355. Lifters, Rockers, Push Rods.Transmission: T-H400 TCI Street Fighter with a Lokar ShifterFront End: Custom Tubular Axle with Coil over suspension, Disk Brakes, VEGA Cross Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel and a Tilt NoseRear End: Narrowed and Chromed Jag Rear, 3:73 Posi with a Link Set UpFrame: Custom Tubular Box Frame 2x3Top: Carson- New Black TopGauges: Stewart/Warner Paint Gold Mist Metallic 2yrs old.Rebuilt Hub carrier on sideThis car does not have a wiper motor and didn’t when the current owner purchased it. It has a small engine oil drip that was also there. These were in indicated issues in the paperwork from Texas where a most of the car was built. On the drivers side back fender there is a crack in the paint. Owner has paint color to touch up.
This car has 7,081 miles and the current owner has pictures, titles and some documentation on the engine drive train and auto bodywork from Florida and Texas. The body was painted 2 yrs. ago and last yr. the car was hit slightly in the back causing a very minor dent that was professionally repaired. It is all-metal that has been skim coated with filler. The car has a bench seat and burgundy interior. This car was driven from CT to Lake George the last 2 years with no problems. Titled in CT and Runs on Mid Grade Gas for best engine performance.
Owner is not interested in Trades. Reasonable reserve for this very unique car!
