Full size photosThis 1929 Packard Standard Eight Model 633 Opera Coupe underwent an award-winning restoration and has been under long-time ownership for the past 25 years. In 1929, from the first time ever, Packard shifted its entire product line to its straight 8 engine which provided more horsepower than the 6 cylinder engines and allowed Packard to interchange parts between the larger 348.8 straight eight and its smaller brother the 319.2 straight 8.Packard offered 10 distinct body styles in 1929 on its Eight chassis, 7 of which were mounted to Packard's 133.5 inch chassis. This particular '29 Packard comes to us out of Oklahoma and Texas where it spent the past 25+ years in private collections.A 319.2 Cubic Inch L-Head Straight 8 with a single barrel carburetor sends power to the rear wheels of this '29 Packard Coupe and pushed out 90 horsepower in its day.The Straight 8 is mated up to a 3 speed manual transmission that is comfortably shifted using the floor mounted shifter.Being that Packards were luxury cars back in 1929, they typically came with many options. This particular 633 Coupe is equipped with dual side mounted spare tires which in 1929 cost a whopping $240.On this '29 Packard Coupe, the traditional vacuum powered fuel pump remains intact but has been upgraded to an electric fuel pump system for improved reliability. The rear mounted luggage rack is also a nice add-on option and comes with period correct luggage. The "Flying Goddess of Speed" hood ornament is in nice shape as well and gives this Packard a distinctive look. This 1929 Packard 4 Passenger Coupe sits on 4 painted disc wheels, which were standard equipment, with wide whitewall bias-ply tires. The all steel body has been refinished in a beautiful Old Ivory with Flama Brown steel fenders and accents. The interior on this luxurious Packard is superb! The front "opera" seats and rear bench have a beautiful look having been re-covered in in a light brown period correct broadcloth with a tufted look. The woodgrain dash is presented in its stock configuration complete with a speedometer, fuel gauge, clock, and more. The rear passenger area is also equipped with a rear and side curtains for privacy and also features a small broadcloth-covered storage compartment. If you're looking for a stunning full classic, this 1929 Packard Eight Series 633 Opera Coupe is an excellent choice.Give us a call today!
