Description
Listed here for your consideration is a 1949 Packard Eight Touring Sedan Model 2301. This beautiful piece of rolling Americana is ready to whisk you back to a time when Bing Crosby topped the charts, and all neighborhood drug stores had a soda fountain. This Packard appears to be all original with awesome period details like a faux wood metal dash and vintage Bakelite plastic knobs and accents in the interior.
Engine is a 288ci inline-eight with a three on the tree manual transmission. Radio and all gauges, except for the clock work. Body is perfectly straight and rust free; chrome and paint are in great condition. There is some surface rust under the front floor mat. I believe it was repainted 20+ years ago by the original owner. I am the third owner. Overall condition of the interior is good with one tear on the back of the driver’s seat. The speedometer reads 43,110 miles which I was told is original, but I cannot confirm; in my opinion the overall condition of the car supports the claim. It has a fresh oil change and battery. The fuel tank was removed and refurbished in 2019. Carter WDO carb kit from Mike’s Carburetor Parts just purchased and installed. Car is a blast to drive and gets lots of thumbs up on every outing.
