My apologies to all of those waiting for auction to end and a cheeky bid, but I have just too many people interested in this car - 232 Watchers and 4,935 views tells me Auction isn't the way to go with some spurious bid picking it up. So its now changed to a classified meaning its open to anyone genuine and not some speculative bidder. Rest remains unchangedso come and see it, and its now genuinely first come first served.good luck!!!
Well here we have what is fast becoming the holy grail of the classic car industry!!!! An absolutely unmolested 100% genuine, original Peugeot 205GTi.This must be one of the only original examples with this kind of mileage in the UKIt is the original 1.9GTi (more desirable than the 1.6) and has not been re-sprayed. These are now in the 12K+ bracket and this car cannot therefore be underestimated. These are heading to the high teens and the whole classic car industry knows it - Grab yourself one of these while you can
So, why this car. As the documentation proves, this 205GTi was owned by the loveliest retired lady from Edinburgh, she looked after it from almost new, and over the next 23 years was the sole user of the vehicle and loved it. I have spoken to her at length about the car and this must be the only GTi with this kind of unabused history. I have every MOT during her ownership validating the incredibly low mileage (now with a picture attached and including every tax disc!). When she retired she chose to sell it and then only to someone from the same area, a local well known car journalist. I was only lucky enough to get the car because he has emigrated. The minute I saw it I snapped it up.yes its that good.just look at it!!!!
Driving it.this is the best bit!!!! Driving this car is unbelievable!!! I cannot stress how original it is the interior is perfect, the stereo, the steering wheel, every part you touch works and feels like it did back in the day. The engine and gearbox are so tight and smooth it is hardly believable. It is a time warp drive. Between me and the previous journalist owner we have had everything that needed doing done, and I mean everything. The list is:-
New Cambelt
New fuel lines
New tyres
New brake discs/pads/rear calipers/hoses etc
Rear beam refurbished and re-painted in factory original colours
Refurbished Alloys
Full leak-free sunroof
Full and comprehensive service undertaken with fully synthetic oil 5/40 blue coolant, gearbox oil
To make sure everything was done, (theres a lot more) I took car to Peugeot and had them undertake a full list of items - Each and every one of these is now done and the car has a full 12 Month MOT and is ready to go to every classic car show there is.
I have read that 205's rattle and roll and I dare say with 100k+ on the clock they may, there is a solution buy one with almost half that, and with everything done. If you go and buy a 100K+ vehicle at lets say 6k.sort all the things that need doing, budget 2-3k and you have a 9k car with 100k+ miles still on it. Buy this it will always be worth more and what a difference in a drive. IT IS EPIC!!!

Fully refurbished powder coated alloys (newly done)
Original stereo (cassette player) no holes cut for speakers, absolutely genuine throughout
Simply superb condition inside and out
On top of all of this you have an appreciating iconic legend of a vehicle. My opinion, is this is the best one you will find.……do not miss this one.
I do have the car advertised elsewhere and will remove it if the car doesn't get some much deserved attention very quickly. If you are interested jump in.
When looking for a classic you often see "remember this car is 25 years old so expect it to be a shadow of its former self, and drive like a bag of potatoes!" I am saying the opposite, this car is 25years old and is bl*od y excellent in my opinion!! BUT, it is yours that counts, I am not in the least mechanically minded but love cars so if you are genuinely interested come and see it, drive it and if you are first, take it home.
