Time to finally say goodbye to my trusty Pug.The car was just over three years old when I bought it from a dealer who specialised in Ex-Motability cars.
I'm the second owner, and the car is now almost eight years old, yet has covered just 56k miles, with full service history.
Fitted with the auto gearbox (with "tiptronic" function)
The spec on the SE model is quite impressive;
Dual Zone Climate Control
Electric windows all round
Electric heated / folding door mirrors
Cruise control
Automatic wipers and lights
Full panoramic glass roof with electric blind
Remote central locking (including folding mirrors and total closure of any windows left open)
Multi-disc CD / RDS Radio
Reversing Sensors
At nearly eight years old, it's obviously not in showroom condition. It has the usual age-related blemishes but (in general) can be described in very good condition.
At the time of writing, very similar cars are for sale on Auto Trader for between £2995 and £3495, but I'm more realistic about price expectations.
I have been offered £1950 as a part exchange, and the dealer has been surprisingly up-front about his plans to put it on his forecourt at £3295 and then expect to sell it at £3000!
If I can achieve more than the part exchange price offered, then great. If not, it'll go to the dealer.
In addition to regular servicing, the water pump and timing belt were changed last year.
I have the original owner's handbook and lots of old documentation (receipts, old MOT's, service history etc)
The front brake discs and pads have been replaced this week, and the car will be sold with a full MOT (until early September 16)
Not too many negative points, but it's best to describe the car accurately to avoid any arguments later.
The leather on the steering wheel is not the best quality, and has worn in places - apparently this is an issue which affects all of these cars after the leather splits when "baked" in the sun.
There are two minor car-park dings on the near side, where other selfish drivers have opened their car doors and banged my car.
Adjacent to the petrol filler flap there is a small (not deep) scratch that would probably polish out.
The carpet in the boot is worn in places where stored items have rubbed it threadbare. (Nitpicking I know, but easier to be honest!)
There's a minor scratch on the silver section of the dashboard, adjacent to the radio.
Alloy wheels in good condition, but the nearside front has some kerb-marks. All tyres good.
Both keys are present, however the spare key needs a new battery and (as it's a "folding" key) also needs a new spring.
There is a minor mark on the side of the front passenger seat.
Interior has never been smoked-in, nor does it smell of dogs!
I would like a deposit of £200 paid via PayPal within 24 hours of the sale concluding, the balance in cash.
