Description
This is probably the finest 505 on the planet. It was purchased new in Phoenix, Arizona and remained in the area all it's life. There is absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. The paint shines, and the upholstery looks new. No dash cracks, and everything works. The factory stickers are all present in the engine compartment. There are no door dings and the hubcaps look like new. The AC blows so cold that even on hot Arizona days, I leave it on low. The car still has it's original window sticker, all books, manuals and extra keys.. It even has the original radio manual with the code cards, all bound it a beautiful leather binder. Basiclly, the car has everything it was delivered with when it was new.
My history with the the car:
When I first saw the car the drive train would not engage. The car was so perfect that I purchased it anyway and had it delivered on a flatbed to my mechanic. We discovered that the clutch had failed and replaced the clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, master and slave cylinder and hose. That was just the beginning.
In a effort to make this car run as reliably as it looked we replaced the following:
Front and rear main engine seals, transmission seals, engine and transmission mounts, shift rods and bushings, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, oil pan gasket, distributor seal, both lower ball joints, cam seal, brake booster, the radiator was recored, a section of the exhaust system was replaced, new halogen headlights, complete tune up, fluid change, AC service with new expansion valve, etc., etc. I have posted a copy of the service invoice, as I know I have not included everything.
Flaws
There is a small tear on the drivers seat bottom about an inch and a half in length.
There is a small outward facing dent the size of a dine on the hood.
There is a small ding on the left upper wing about a half inch in length.
Summary
I bought my first Peugeot new in 1986, a 505 Wagon. I have owned many Peugeots, and have been looking for a wagon for years. They are very rare and hard to find, and impossible to locate in this condition. This car is immaculate. The plastic protective coating placed over the chrome strips in the wagon back floor are still in place, having never been removed. Everything works as it should. I just returned from a 250 mile trip and the car ran perfectly. It tracks straight down the highway with the steering wheel centered. It has remarkable power and gets approximately 30 MPG on the highway and 26 combined. I would feel confident driving this cat anywhere.
The only reason I am selling the car is because I have too may vehicles. If you are looking for a near perfect car, this is the one.
