Description

Hello! Up for bid is this 1963 Pontiac Bonneville Coupe. It is a solid California car with just 50300 original miles since new. It was built at the Southgate plant in Los Angeles and lived in California for most of it's life before coming to Vancouver BC Canada.
I've included all of the important facts about this car in this ad and have tried my best to remember as many details as possible.
The Good.
NO rust. Not only was she a California car but it was under coated from new which combined with the dry California weather helped keep her solid as a rock. Trunk, floors, frame, body mounts, floor braces, rockers, quarters are all solid as new. NO rust.
The interior is like new. The seats, door panels, carpet, head liner, dash. all look BEAUTIFUL. The only concerns are in two areas. there is one SMALL crack on the far drivers side of the dash pash and a small tear in the vinyl at the side of the drivers seat bottom.
She is equipped with power steering and brakes, wipers, heater, radio and posi track rear end and reel out trunk light. Otherwise she is option-less. The radio works instantly out of both front and rear speakers and sound clear and crisp.
I just spent $3000 rebuilding the original 4B carb, new petronix ignition, wires, cap, battery cables and ground, fuel lines, fuel pump etc etc. Invoice for work done goes with car.
Here is the not so good.
The tires are bias ply and they are crap. They hold air and I do cruise around town on them but at moderate speeds and never on the highway. I've new radials ready to be mounted but as of yet I have not had time to take it in.
The paint, which is the original colour combo of white with a turquoise roof is very presentable and shiny but is showing its age for sure. At some point someone gave it a quick respray to preserve the body which is good but for show I'd personally redo it at some point.
The E brake cable is loose (although the brake itself works and holds) and it sometimes rattles off of the driver's side exhaust pipe. It should be replaced.
The trunk panels, tire cover, jack, and trunk mat are all present but the original speckle paint was covered with rust proof paint to preserve the floor.. again, for show condition I would restore the original aqua speckle paint finish.
A few of the front end pieces like ball joints and such are showing their age. They work for a pleasure cruise but in the long run they should be replaced.
The rear bumper has no rot but the chrome is showing it's age and should be recovered.
All in all this car is a SOLID and clean original survivor that is priced well for it's condition. It would take very little to clean her up to show condition and make her perfect.
She is sold as is where is. I reserve the right to end auction early and only once funds have been cleared will she be released to the buyer who will be responsible for arranging shipping.
