Description

This Pontiac has been kept in a garage for more than 30 years, (not even started in the last ten) The last time it was registered (until last month) was 2008. It was my fathers, he owned it since 1967. He had this car and a 1962 Bonneville Convertible but chose to keep the Catalina because it was a "small" car and lighter. It's painted Dawn Firemist (factory color) with a white top. The engine is numbers matching however the trans and rear end are not. The transmission currently is a turbo 400 that's only been driven a few times and shifts good, I just changed the fluid and put a new filter in it. The rear end is Pontiac, I'm unsure of the gears or if it has posi-traction. The 389 cubic inch block has been bored .030. The cam grind is just above a factory 389 six pack cam (I'm not sure what brand). The Edelbrock intake was polished and 2 Edelbrock 500 C.F.M.performer carbs rest on top. It's been lowered about 2", lake pipes are for looks only, all emblems were removed and a button opens the trunk. The top isn't working but it's all there and the motor hums so I think it's low on fluid. The trunk pan has some rust but I see no rust on any body panels. The interior is beautiful with maroon naugahyde floors, seats are maroon with grey cloth inserts. The front suspension needs work. It has power steering, power brakes, power top. When it was appraised about 9 months ago it was valued at $26K as is. I think this car was always pretty rare and is 1 of 1 after all these years. The lights all work, gauges seem to work but the wipers don't. It was a 4 speed car most of it's life, I put the automatic in it just before my father passed away so he could drive it but he never did. It still has the clutch pedal and brake pedal installed and I've got the Muncie 4 speed for an extra cost if your interested, I'm not sure if it's an M21 or M22 all I know is that it came from a corvette many many years ago but it's in great condition. The heater works, the stereo works but it was a really cheap stereo from the start. There's a tonneau cover that is custom and covers the whole back seat and the top boot area and the windows are in good shape for their age. With a little bit of work this car could be fantastic. It's developed a noise in the engine, I'm not sure what the problem is.
