Description
Engine has been swapped from a 2007 Grand Prix and is approx 275 HP.Fuel economy is as good or better than with the stock 2.8L.Transmission has been swapped for an F23 from a 2002 Cavalier, which is a stronger transmission than the stock Getrag 5 spd. Spec 3 clutch works perfectly.Aftermarket 13"brake rotor kit installed.AC works but there is a leak and it needs occasional charging. All poly bushings, new Koni front shocks, Fierostore drop springs, recent alignment. All synthetic oils used.Recent coolant and brake fluid flush.Heater core has been bypassed as it had a minor leak and was not needed (car is never used in winter).Car runs and drives reliably, has approx 4000 miles since the swap.Engine bay could use a tidy up to hide some wires and hoses.Trans mount should be re-done eventually. It works, but there is some movement at shifting that has been improved by adding a brace.WCF headers are installed, but there are a couple of leaks at the clamps. Both engine and trans have less than 40k miles.Engine has excellent compression, no leaks, runs great.Supercharger runs great, no issues. Some occasional belt squeal from AC.This car is in above average condition, and has absolutely no accidents, repaint, or rust. Doors close tightly, headlights work perfectly. The only damage I am aware of is a spot on the floor where a car hoist rubbed up against the floor- about 2" long. The swap works, but could use a tidy-up to reroute some of the hoses and wiring to make it look better. The car may need a coil, as I occasionally have misfire when the engine is hot (has not happened in a while and I could not reproduce it).The 13" Fieroguru vented brake rotors look great and work better than stock.Wheels are 17" ASA-AR1 with Firehawk tires, good tread left.Catalytic converter is installed.Pipe between cat and muffler should probably be changed to something bigger for better flow- currently the stock Fiero pipe is there.Dash corners are perfect.
The car isfast, I would estimate 5 seconds to 60 MPH, and gets about 28 MPG on average.Great classic, gets lots of compliments, and handles very well.As it is an aftermarket engine and transmission, it is best purchased by someone who understands these cars and knows how to work on them, as there will always be things to tweak or improve on an engine swap.Any questions, please feel free to ask.I am willing to drive the car to the Canadian side of the Buffalo or Detroit border crossing for an extra fee.Importing the car back into the USA is simple.
