Description
1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am With T-Tops, Billet Specialty Wheels, 350 SBC
I purchased this car with intent on getting it painted black and keeping it. However, I have 5 serious projects in front of it and winter time is approaching!
This is what I was told about the car. The stock engine and transmission, which was a V8 305, has been replaced with a 350 out of a 1969 Camaro (facts! I checked the numbers). The engine runs great and is extremely responsive. I was told that it has 400+ horsepower (it definitely feels like it). The engine has a mild cam, edelbrock 4 barrel carb, posi rear end and I believe a powerglide 350 transmission that has to have a shift kit in it. The transmission goes in drive only and has 3 gears (NO Low 1,2). This vehicle was set up to perform.
The body was supposedly painted in the 90's along with the wheels installed. The paint is in very good condition although it has a few spots underneath the doors that is peeling (see pics). The wheels can use a decent polish but they still shine. The hood is fiberglass and has a small hole in it. The AC unit was removed from the vehicle. The gauges are off with the exception of the speedometer. I'm guessing the engine swap has everything thrown off. The fuel gauge does NOT work because the engine runs off a holley mechanical pump now and not the pump in the tank. There is a B&M Shifter in the car (can use some adjusting). The headlight does not pop up when the switch is turned on. They have to be lifted up manually although I rebuilt the motors.
Underneath the car is solid with the exception of the driverside floor pan. There is a hole under the front and rear. The entire floor pan does not need to be replaced if you don't want to. There is salvagable metal to replace the damged sections. There is a fairly small hole on the passenger side floor pan that can easily be fixed. If the floor pans were solid, this car body would be near perfect. The body is GREAT!
The vin tag is rusted out. Most of the digits are not visible however, the vin is stamped on the frame under the hood.
The interior is fair. The driver side turn signal bulb will need to be replaced. The tires are good. One of the rear tires are different from the others.
The radio work but there is no sound from the speakers.
I ONLY have ignition keys. The company I bought the car from lost the door keys (smh). The hatch has electric button to open it. It has been raining relentlessly and the T-tops APPEARS to be not leaking.
I will price this car accordingly. If the floor pans were okay, this car body would be near perfect despite the other minor issues.
If you have ANY questions please feel free to ask. I have a clear title in hand.
NOTE: I have the right to list this car at anytime because I have it for sale locally!! I am open to SERIOUS OFFERS to end the auction early.
