It has a Hirth roller bearing crankshaft. Before its rebuild, the engine sat unused for 50 years in a bedroom. Billy Doyle confirmed in a letter to the current owner: your engine that I just rebuilt for you was a very low mileage engine. All of the gear set numbers matched each other and the numbers stamped into the cylinder heads by the factory.
