Description

1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa. We bought this car from the gentleman who imported it from Germany in 1985 and have owned and maintained it ever since.
The car has always been garaged and anything our Porsche mechanic said it needs has been done. We live here in Portland, Oregon so the climate is mild and we really have no issues with rust in the Pacific Northwest. Everything on the car works properly, including the power windows and the mechanical clock on the dash.
The paint shines like new (just professionally polished as well) and there are no dents, dings, rock chips or scratches anywhere on the car. The glass is all perfect with no chips, cracks or pitted areas. The carpet and seats are all original and in excellent condition. There is no sun fading or cracking on the dash (common issue on these 911's). The door panels are in very nice condition as is the interior / headliner of the Targa Top. The front bonnet is clean and includes the battery maintainer that we plug in when not driven. The wheels are all perfect with no nicks, dings or curb marks.
The car can only be described as in outstanding condition and no one ever believes the car is nearly 40 years old. It has been meticulously maintained by Marque Motors here in Portland - the premier Porsche service / repair facility in the area. Major work was done in 2009, including a new clutch and all that goes with that at that time. In 2014 the entire top end was overhauled, including cylinder head studs (over $17,500 spent at that time). In 2015, the exhaust system was replaced including new heat exchangers (over $3,600 spent at that time). The most recent major service was done in January 2019 where the oil lines were all replaced ($3,500 spent at that time). As you can see, we have addressed any issues that have come up and the car has ZERO DEFERRED MAINTENANCE. You could drive this car across country tomorrow!!
The only negatives are the car was backed into a post in the garage, so the rear deck lid (covering the engine) has been repaired and repainted properly. The speedometer had to be replaced a number of years ago, so it reads 108k. Actual miles on the car are approximately 152k.
This car was professionally appraised back in 2011 at a value of $25,000. We know that the values of these air cooled cars has more than doubled since that time. Our reserve is much less than that!

Buy now to enjoy a classic that you can drive and enjoy for as long as we have!
