Description

Selling my '78 911SC sunroof coupe. Solid NC/SC numbers matching car, no rust. Straight bodyno dings to speak of. Appears to have never been in an accident. Underside is free of any rust. Floors are perfect. Dog legs are perfect. Front pan is rock solid (very minor bit of corrosion around the edges of one of the front drain holes, but everything else is dead solid especially where the front suspension mounts bolt onjust like it left the factory).
Car was ordered with driver's side mirror only, and possibly special ordered with "paint to sample" option as the paint code of the car was used in 1976 only (in 1978 it was called a Copper Brown Metallic and had a different paint code "Z6"). Pic of paint tag is in the listing.
Paint code is the beautiful and desirable fairly rare 443-9-3 (which is Copper Bronze Metallic, a 1976 color which makes this even more special!). With the two tone black and saddle leather interior, it makes for a stunning color combo! There are a few spots where the paint needs redone (hood by crest, corner of roof by windshield, spot on sunroof). Some minor scratches here and there. It really deserves a windows out respray to be "exceptional", but for a "driver" it looks great from five feet as it is. Windshield has a vertical crack. All window seals had been replaced prior to my ownership, and it looks like some glue residue got on the paint around the trim. I haven't tried to remove, but it probably would come off with the right chemical remover and some elbow grease. Missing a small trim piece by passenger side rear quarter window (inner and outer) and some weather stripping around the doorseasy to do, just never got to it.
Power sunroof and windows work. Inner sunroof section of headliner needs covered. I also have the door pockets/arm rests in the front trunk. Space saver spare tire, 1000 page 911SC Service Manual, inner sunroof frame (for headliner), and fog light lense covers are in there as well.
Motor and tranny are original to car. Bottom of engine is dry as seen in pics. Car starts right up. Runs and sounds well. Nothing like the sound of an air cooled 911 motor! Slightly smokes at times. Driving the car, it shifts thru all gears fine. Nice matching clean original Fuchs with good rubber. Good brakes.
Interior is in good shape overall. Carpet looks new. Dash is original and has no cracks! Missing radio and antenna. Steering wheel is nice, needs plastic coupler replaced (slight movement back and forth). Wipers, lights and horn work. Headliner is black and in good condition. Door panels and seats are leather and in good shape. Rear seats are a little discolored from sun (can be re-dyed).
I bought it a while back to do a complete concourse restoration on it and add to my collection of air cooled Porsches, but we recently moved and bought a "fixer upper" house, and my wife wants all the major projects done "YESTERDAY!" LOL "Happy wife, happy life", so they say. So, unfortunately some of my toys have already been sold to fund some of the renovation. This is the next on the chopping block to enclose the carport. The good news is when lumber prices get back to normal I get to build a 4 stall garage with room for a lift! That gets me excited!
Car is 43 years old and in overall good condition. Restored these are bringing $60-80k, and most likely only continuing to go up in value! A solid investment that you can drive and enjoy while it continues to appreciate! That's a win/win in my book!
Pictures give a pretty good indication of its overall condition. Clean, clear SC title in my name, in my possession. Located in Conway, SC. Message me for more info, questions, offers. I will sell internationally, but buyer is responsible for arranging/paying for shipping.
I travel a lot for work so I may or may not be around to take additional pics, etc for anyone. I will do my best to accommodated serious buyers.
No dreamers, no gamesplease. Only bid if you're a serious buyer. Zero feedback bidders must contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled and you may be blocked. Too many games being played with people winning car auctions and then not following thru. This costs money and time, and doing that takes opportunities away from legit serious bidders. So again, PLEASE only bid if you have permission from your spouse, priest, girlfriend, or anyone else that could screw this up, before bidding.
Car is being sold "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied. All sales are final. I am a private seller who enjoys collecting and restoring classic sports cars. Please only bid if you have funds readily available. I cannot wait for you to get a loan, etc.
I require full payment bank wired within 3 business days after auction ends (I will email you that info once deposit has been paid).
$500 deposit is due immediately following winning the auction (so I know you're a legit buyer), and the remaining balance is to be bank wired within 3 business days. No exceptions, please. Car is advertised elsewhere so auction could end at any time. Feel free to make an offer to end early.
Car is being sold with no reserve, last bid wins!!!
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!
