Description
This is "a barn-find estate sale". Dad bartered it for a mason job done for a dentist in Santa Fe, when the car was as good as new. Both happy about the outcome. Sadly, Dad died of COVID in 2020.
Check the VIN build, it is literally one of the last of the 70 air-cooled 911's for 1980. Any and all quirks, problems and hick-ups taken care of. "It couldn't get better than this!" The air-cooled engines lived to race another 13 years before (in 1993) Porsche changed to the water cooled engines.
From the mileage you can see it was rarely driven. Yes, the air-cooling is so efficient that engine heat is dissipated as if nothing. The car got an original Turbo whale tale and front spoiler, and boy, does it look (and handle) fantastic with it!
Meticulously and carefully garage stored (in a 5-car garage) in the dry NM climate. Having been stored inside, the leather interior is in optimal condition. "To look at, to let your hand caress its lines."
The 4 pages of the scanned service manual tell the story, "one of the many cars kept in the garage".
