Description
This unique car started life as a 1993 911 RS America before
being re-bodied as a 996 wide-body GT3RS.
The engine is air-cooled (reliable and easy to maintain), and significant
suspension, transmission, and brake system upgrades make this a very capable DE
and PCA Club Race car. A tribute to
America’s greatest Porsche racing team ever, car is finished in faithful Brumos
Racing #59 livery. Every time car is
taken to track, dozens ask, “Is this a real Brumos car?” Details of this very special race car are listed
below:
CHASSIS
Body work conversion by 911 Design to a 2001 GT3RS (Getty Design fiberglass package)
Chassis disassembled, stripped, and then powder coated
Welded in professional roll cage – tied into front & rear shock towers
Spa fire system
New ATL 17-gallon fuel cell
Sparco Euro GRP Tech seat (mfg October 2012) with Recaro slider (PCA Club Race tech-approved)
Stack Dash
Carbon fiber dash board
Momo quick-release steering wheel
Two 996 C2 front mount oil coolers
ENGINE
Freshly built on low-mileage 1997 3.6 liter 993 motor by Debold Automotive
PMO electronic fuel injection system
Electromotive Tech3r engine control unit; 6 coils mounted inside firewall
Web cams
Fabspeed Supercup SS exhaust
New Clewitt Engineering ignition wire set
Simple, reliable 300+ horsepower on pump fuel
18 total hours since build; oil and filter changed after each track day
TRANSMISSION
Bullet-proof G50-50 transmission
Tall 1st and 2nd gear; short 4th and 5th gear; straight-cut 3rd/4th/5th gears
External transmission cooler with electric pump (cockpit controlled)
Fabcar shifter along with Twin-Turbo solid front trans bracing provides precise and easy gear changing – even under heavy side loading
SUSPENSION
Custom-installed 993 alloy multi-link rear suspension (same as 996) with reinforced mounting points
New Tarett Engineering rear control arms and links (stability with lots of adjustability)
JRZ double adjustable shocks and struts; 2.25” diameter springs
Twin-Turbo axels and CVs
RSR rear sway bar; custom sliding front sway bar
Electric power steering: Porsche steering rack with Toyota electric power steering pump
Kinsesis 18”/10.5” front wheels & 18”/13” rear wheels
Yokohama slicks: 280/650R18 front & 330/690R18 rear
BRAKES
Massive 6-piston Brembo calipers with 14” rotors on front (custom adapters)
Twin-Turbo front calipers on rear
Custom brake ducts through front bumper
Motorsports Design dual master cylinder with remote balance bar
Awesome braking power for a 2,400 lb car; zero brake fade EVER!
SPARES
Full second set of Kinesis wheels and Yokohama slicks
Miscellaneous maintenance items, e.g., new brake pads (front and rear), extra oil filters, etc.
As pictures show, body and paint are in good condition with only the typical chips and nicks that come with track time. Only known flaw is a slight PS fluid leak around the right seal of the steering rack.
I am a long-time PCA member and Club Racer and have owned this car for 11 years (multiple wins and podium finishes over the years). Vehicle has current PCA Club Racing log book and is classed in GT3R. This is a fast and very safe car in its current configuration, and it is highly adjustable and capable of safely handling much more horsepower (has successfully run with a 550 horsepower turbo motor in GT1R). It has great track manners – handles and brakes at high levels of performance. But with the power steering and effortless shifting, it is actually quite easy to drive fast.
For DEs or Club Racing, this car needs nothing and is absolutely track-ready. For more details, call (216) 570-9751.
