Description
Up for Sale is my 1995 Porsche 993 series Carrera Cabriolet.
This car is in Toronto, Canada and has been here for several years. It was originally from Arizona.
I would say mechanically it is in excellent condition and the interior and exterior are in near-excellent condition.
It has 93,600 miles on it.
I have had it for about a year, bought it from a friend and have been very happy with it. My wife wants to buy a "newer style" Porsche
What has been done lately:
New top 2015
New Michelin Sport Pilots 2015 (have probably 2,500 miles on them)
New Kenwood stereo 2015
The car has been carefully gone over by an experienced Porsche mechanic in 2015 and any and every piece that needed replacement has been done, including distributor cap and wires.
This car runs extremely well, and is extremely tight.
Everything works perfectly. It does not leak any oil at all. It may use a tiny bit, but normal for the car. I find that 5w40 mobil synthetic works best
The electric roof works as it is supposed to (many of these cars have been converted to manual tops!)
The exterior is a silver/grey with a hint of gold. It was a factory special order colour in 1995. I can't remember the name of the colour! Part of the car (possibly all, not sure) has been painted. High quality, in original colour.
This car is spotless, inside and out. The original cup wheels are painted black, as are the side mirrors. I am not sure if they were done at the factory; possibly, but I suspect they were painted later.
There have been some minor modifications, including coilovers and tech-art exhaust parts.
There is 1 very minor scratch by the drivers side door, otherwise the exterior is really near-perfect.
Car comes with original owners manual, warranty book, air pump, etc. There is a quality car-cover included, and a rear air deflector.
This car has been in 1 very minor accident at some point a few years ago to the left front bumper. The insurance claim was for $2,400. Must have been very minor damage, and a foolish claim! Otherwise, a clean carfax.
Here are the only issues with the car:
I have a bad back, and found the original seats uncomfortable. So I changed them for seats from a 944 turbo. All power functions and heated seats work fine, but likely a new owner would look for a set of original seats, readily available from ebay for about $800 to $1000.
There is a minor scuff on the rear drivers side bumper. Hardly noticeable, but could be repainted
And last, there are a couple of very minor stone chips in the original (I believe original) windshield. The chips have been fixed by a 'stone chip doctor', but a perfectionist might replace the glass.
Otherwise, this is a well above average car, and especially good for a car with 93,000 miles.
I am a Porsche Club of America member, if that makes a difference!
If it's not snowing, I would happily deliver within 500 miles of Buffalo New York, otherwise pickup or flatbed shipping can be arranged.
More photos will be added shortly, and are available on request.
