Description
1968 Porsche 912 Soft Window Targa
Chassis 12870668
Engine 4093792
Story goes, car was a long term restoration project until owner passed. Following work was completed about ten years ago:
Paint/Body. Car was sprayed white, originally Burgundy Red (017). Has some dings and scratches from being garage art for a decade.
Mechanical - 5spd transmission rebuild, top end motor rebuild. Tins/peripherals need to be installed to get the car running. I'm certain it needs brake work as well.
I went through the painstaking process of sourcing engine tins, mostly original Porsche metal in good condition.
Seemingly period-correct Fuchs on the car. Haven't dug into the numbers on these.
I'd rate the interior as "serviceable but aged", front seats are in pretty good shape. This will be a good driver-quality car with mechanical work to get it moving.
Car is pretty dry, has had a mediocre rust patch job on the pan on driver's side. Rockers are nice. Car had AC installed at some point (now gone) but install remnants remain.
Will consider trades for interesting non-projects cash up/down. I'm just too busy for projects (so I have come to realize). These are fantastic inflation hedges. Grab one of these before it's too late! Restored examples are trading over $100k and continue to climb.
No warranties/guarantees implied here - please do your own research. Texas title in my name. Mileage listed is approximate.
Cheers
