Description

You are bidding on a 1976 Porsche 914 with the original 2.0 engine and original fuel injection system. It has never undergone any attempt at a restoration. It was simply used until it got old and was then stored away. The last time it was started was about 5 years ago. At that time, the gas tank was removed for some reason by the previous owner and is now missing. However, the sending unit and other ancillaries attached to the gas tank all seem to still be there.
The engine is not stuck, and would probably start with an external gas supply and a tune-up. I haven't tried to start it since I bought it about 2 years ago.
Rust is definitely not an issue with this car. I looked over the entire car for any rust holes and the only one I could find was a very small 1/4 inch hole on the top of the right rear fender, probably from where someone spilled a drop of battery acid in the past (there's a closeup picture of this rust hole). The rest of the car has no rust holes. Even the "hell hole" below the battery is rust-free, and the battery holder itself is also rust-free (there's a picture of this too).
I believe the paint is original to the car. There also is no evidence that the car has ever been in an accident. There are some dings here and there on the body, but no body damage repair anywhere.
This would be an excellent car to restore as it will require no rust repair or redoing any accident damage, and it has the 2.0 engine, which is the most desirable of all the 4 cylinder engines.
I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the Colorado open Title I received when I bought the car.
