Description
1985 Porsche 928 Euro manual with low mileage.
1985 Euro 928 - The late 84 and 85 Euro has the 4.7L engine with 16V heads and special grind cams. The engine is rated at 310HP however they usually dino out at 330HP. Only the 84 and 85 had the twin electronic distributors and the late Bosch LH Jetronic fuel system. This is a 160 MPH+ car. I've read these cars, boted out to 5.3l, push 400 hp with no other changes. About this car: It is low mileage and the body is dead straight with no rust. The clear-coat is failing on the hood and top. The interior leather is in poor condition. The seats are the hi bolster type and in fair condition. The dash and pod need a complete redo. However the door panels and rear wheel covers are not warped and, strangely, the carpets are good. Call me for details. The dash has a US speedo but the rest is in German. New wind shield. The five speed shifts smooth with no grinding. The shift rod bushings are new.
This is my 6th 928 - and my last. Included with the car is my collection of parts, good and bad, tools, a flywheel lock and belt tension meter. A complete set of factory manuals with electrical diagrams. This year, 2018, the fuel system was cleaned, the injectors calibrated (paper work included), a new fuel pump and filter.
For any distance driving, or high speeds, the tires - although they look good, should be replaced. The car is, of course, sold as is. But it starts, stops and drives well. The speedo and odometer works so the mileage is probably correct, You can still see the factory inspectors strike marks under the car. It has no cats or O2 sensors.
