Description

Here is a list of the general condition the car is in: Suspension Front suspension has hypercoil springs. Koni adjustable shocks. Bushings and bearing plates were replaced when installed the Hypercoils 5 years ago. The rear suspension had stiff torsion bars and lowered. Koni reds are on the rear. All bushings were replaced at the same time and are polyurethane. The car is stiff but still handles bumps much better than most cars. The car stays planted firmly on rough road and handling is amazing on a good road. When all this was done the ride heights were set, corner balanced and aligned to 2 degrees negative camber. The tire wear hasn't been an issue. Brakes The brakes are mainly stock with the exception of the pads. All lines are braided S.S. Exhaust The exhaust was replaced 3 years ago. It does have a cat. I did add exhaust insulation wrap by the shift linkage to keep passenger compartment temp down. Interior The interior like most of them has had some issues. The dash had the usual cracking and I really dislike the dash covers so I redid the dash in suede. It looks very nice, there is only one spot where you can see the crease and it is very small. On the drivers side in between the side vent and the instrument cluster. It doesn't stand out at all. The center console is redone in suede also. The drivers and passenger side kick panels are matching suede as is the roof cover behind the sun roof. There was nothing wrong with these pieces but it matches now. On the passenger side there is a small spot on the carpet where the carpet is worn. Like on pretty much all these cars the back seat is in perfect condition. The gauges had the typical problem of being dull so they were replaced with with faces and stand alone lighting with two tints and dimmer. Exterior The paint is in good shape with no fading. The only part that has discoloration is the stone guards, which are replaceable. The tires and rims are in great shape with no bubbling. Engine The engine is very strong with great low end torque and plenty of power. The crank sensor was replaced a year ago. The DME relay has been replaced with a factory replacement and I have some spares. Most recently the timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, thermostat, and all rollers were replaced a year ago, about 300 miles. The engine runs cool and strong. One modification I have made is a new oil pressure gauge. I had an experience with the vdo gauge not working properly on a 914 which cost me an engine so I added an autometer pro oil pressure gauge. The engine has great oil pressure. The engine has only seen 93 plus and nothing but mobil 1 green top from new. The timing belt cover now has an inspection opening to see the belts. I got tired of pulling the covers to check the belts and tension at the intervals like supposed to. The engine ecm has been modified from the previous owner from Powerhaus. There are no serious oil leaks and the engine does not burn any oil. Transmission The transmission is strong with no abnormal noises or movements. All syncro's work perfectly. It has seen only Mobil 1 since the previous owner. Air conditioning
The air conditioning was retrofitted 3 years ago. Compressor, dryer, expansion valve and seals were replaced. I have not really driven the car in a while. I crank it up and run it around the community to keep fluid circulating about once a month. Life got busy and other responsibilities got in the way. I've finally decided I don't see myself in the near future of having more time to enjoy the car. It's time to go to someone who will enjoy it again. It is not licensed but can be cranked and driven in the community to get a feel for it. I am including the full set of factory manuals, two good lower control arms and a rear diff.
