Description
This car has been my everyday driver for the past 15
years. This is not a show car.
The entire clutch assembly was replaced about 3000 miles ago.
The torque tube bearings and drive shaft were replaced at the same time.
The car has adjustable Koni struts on the front.
A strut tower brace has been installed to improve cornering. (See picture)
The master and slave clutch cylinders have been replaced.
The air box was replaced with a more efficient intake
The crystallized carpet was replaced throughout and new floor mats with 944 in yellow were installed.
The driver’s side door handle is new.
The driver’s side window motor was replaced a few years ago. As was the power steering pump.
I installed the back valance (part below the rear bumper see picture)
While removing the old crystallized carpet I removed the back seats as they had decomposed. I installed a cover to hide storage bins that occupy the seat wells. The back seats in a 944 are useless for anyone over 3 ft. tall and many used and complete sets are available on Ebay.
I installed a keyless entry system with an ignition disabler. It also allows the opening of the hatch without a key. Those familiar with 944’s know this replaces the useless hatch switch on the drivers kick panel
The timing belt and balance shaft belts were replaced in late 2012 and inspection indicates they are in good shape I estimate around 15,000 miles on them.
The transmission is in good shape and shifts solid.
Braking is solid with no pulling or lockup.
The mini spare and jack are with the car.
The oil pick up tube was replaced.
Everything works on this car including the sun roof.
Alternator was replaced Last year along with the Battery.
AC works but needs recharging (r134) every month or so. The flimsy belt tensioner has been replaced by a solid brace. Eliminating the vibration from the AC Pump and Alternator issues.
Parking brake works (needs adjusting)
It has an aftermarket Sony radio.
I have the map pockets for both doors and will be included. (They too have been re-covered)
Issues:
It needs some minor body work front and rear.
It needs a paint job.
The driver’s seat is worn and could do with re upholstering the passenger side is fine.
The dash has cracks in it. A known issue with these cars.
One of the bearings in the newly built torque tube howls slightly and is only audible for a brief moment.
Odometer needs fixing. I have replaced some of the gears. (a spare instrument cluster is included)
May need rear tires in the coming months.
The master brake cylinder may need replacing in the near future.
It can be hard to start cold. A shot of engine starter solves this issue. This is only an issue on cold mornings and only in the morning.
Included:
A spare head and parts. It will need machining, a rebuild is a good idea
A spare phone dial rim and tire.
The original air box.
Rear rotors
Spare instrument cluster
A box of miscellaneous parts that have been replace or removed on the car over the years.
I am open to fair offers and will only respond to fair offers.
