Description
Very beautiful example of a 1988 Guards Red Porsche 944 Turbo.
This car has been a pleasure to own and drive, but unfortunately I need to move on and let someone else enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Over $30,000 has been spent on this car for repairs and upgrades in the past year, including;
Timing belt and water pumpHID headlight kitSunroof, electric, fixed and not leakingRear wiper installedNew summer performance tiresReplace alternatorNew suspensionNew strutsNew CD/BT/DVD stereo with 7" pop-out touch screenA/C works quick and strongUpgraded cluster lights - can see speedometer with amazing clarity now!While, admittedly, I did drive the car in the winter last year (a BLAST to drive, very stable, no slipping - unless it was intentional), Calgary doesn't use salt on the roads in the winter, so still rust free - previous to last year, the car was in Texas, and California before that.
The interior picture doesn't show the upgraded CD player, rear wiper switch, and upgraded shifter boot.
The outstanding issues with the car are as follows;
Town Sway Bar BushingTurbo requires replacement (with throttle valve and idle stabilizer)Very minimal oil leaks once the turbo is replaced/repairedDash cracks, of courseSlight separating in one seam on the driver's seat (could be fixed with some easy stitching)Odometer stopped working earlier this year at 132,765 miles. I've kept all gas receipts since then to be able to recalculate exact mileage.All maintenance records are available since new, including the recent diagnosis of the turbo quote from my local Porsche dealer.
This car has been extremely reliable for me. There was only one instance when I had to pull over to the side of the road, being when my alternator went - though a short charge from my wife and I was able to drive it home and to the shop the next day.
Turbo "s" chip installed by the dealer prior to delivery in 1988.
Limited slip transaxle and MO30 suspension option with adjustable shocks.
I can arrange for very reasonable shipment anywhere in North America (I would drive it to you for a reasonable cost including gas and return air-fare, and a tissue for my tears from having to sell).
