Description

Sadly, it is time to sell my pride and joy. My stunning 1992 Porsche Turbo Convertible.
I knew from a very young age I had to have one - my father had a 1990 example, and I just loved it. Normally, I am a bit of an American Car nut, owning 2 Trans Ams and 3 Corvettes over the past 17 years. I have also owned a 1985 928 S2.
I searched for nearly 2 years for just the right 944, and travelled the country without success. then, in May 2011, I contacted a Porsche Specialist on Loch Lomond who told me about this one. When he sent me the CD of 150+pics, I knew it was the one for me and purchased it there and then.
If you are reading this, you will know all about these cars, so I won't bore you with the technical stuff.
What I will say is that my car is exactly as it appears in the pictures, which were taken today. Please forgive the over-brightness of the pictures - I seem to have picked the hottest day of the year to sell it! Rest assured, the car is red, very RED! It is waxed routinely, and sometimes even more often, with Mer polish.
The car is completely original and unmolested. Other than a new stereo, it is I believe exactly as they roll out of the factory. I had the option of changing various things, including Cup 1 Alloys, but thought it important to preserve the originality. Being only 1 of 100 ever made, and with few remaining, you will understand why.
Everything works exactly as it should. It starts on the button, idles with a beautiful deep burble, and turbo performs absolutely perfectly. Brakes and tyres are excellent, and the starter motor was recently replaced. The roof goes up and down smoothly, and comes with its original cover. The stereo is a CD player, with wiring for ipod hook up in the glovebox.
Servicing - the maintenance book is stuffed full of stamps;

And since my purchase of the vehicle in June 2011 and despite only covering just 3800 miles since, I have changed the engine oil and filters in June of 2012, 2013, and this year. Next service is due at 117k.
I have MOT's going back to 2001, a folder of receipts, certificate of Cobra Cat 1 Alarm. V5 is in my name.
In the interests of being completely open and honest, and to save time of everyone's part I would point out a few things; The front fog lights have slight cracks, as all do due to their design and angle of installation. The pictures show this (or not! You can hardly see them!) They are not broken however, and are complete. The gear gator is showing some wear, as you would expect (an easy replacement on ebay), a small stone chip on windscreen (has been there since I purchased it, and not mentioned at all on any MOT, so not a concern) and two hair pulls in the roof, which have been addressed so not an issue. The plastic rear screen is showing yellowing at an edge, again, as you would expect. I am being incredibly picky here, but that is only so that any purchaser is completely happy.
The car sailed through MOT on 18th June, with no advisories. A new rear tyre was fitted at that time. Car has covered only 40 miles since.
Both sets of keys are here (there may be a third set!) Private plate will be retained, and an age-related J-plate will be applied.
Any inspection, be it personal, by your mechanic, RAC or AA is of course welcome.
This has to be a somewhat unique opportunity to acquire an incredibly rare, yet useable modern classic, in outstanding all round condition, and is certainly set to increase in value. Please do not confuse this with either a standard 944 or a standard convertible - this is anything but!
Serious enquiries only please, I will not waste your time, so would very much appreciate the same in return. My job requires me to be fully Police checked, and I also hold MoD clearance, so please take some reassurance that my description is as open and honest as possible. Any questions, or even just a chat about the car,please do feel free to call 07702 124 572
