Description

I amputting my 1994 Porsche 968 up for sale. It is a six-speed manualtransmission. It has 123,080miles and a clean title. I love this car but need to let it go as I amgoing through many life changes right now. With that said, please do not make an offer on the car unless youhave read this entire ad, are serious about the car, and have the fundsnecessary to purchase it.
I am anASE master certified technician and an Automotive Instructor at Idaho StateUniversity. I have done several maintenance items on this car since I purchasedit about two years ago, which was less than 500 miles ago. I installed a newtiming belt and balance shaft belt including new tensioner and idler pulleys, cam and crank seals, water pump, and thermostat. I have also replaced the valvecover gasket and oil pan gasket. Ireplaced the tune up items as well, such as the air filter, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I have done the oilchange with Royal Purple oil. Iinstalled drilled and slotted rotors and new pads. I replaced the power steering hoses, resealedthe power steering pump, and resealed the rack and pinion. I also replaced the radiator with anall-aluminum performance radiator. Ireplaced the hall effect switch pigtail. This car is mechanically in great condition. I would have no reservations driving this car anywhere in the country.
Theexterior is in decent shape with a few blemishes. I did do touch up paint and you don’t noticethe blemishes unless you get close. I know it would really make a big difference if you took the time to polish it up nice, buthonestly, I feel like it is to the point where it could use a new paintjob. I bought the 18” Turbo Twist wheelsthat are currently on the car which are more staggered than the originals. I believe the rear wheels are 11" wide. I had them powder coated this beautiful bluemetallic color which turned outphenomenal and really make the car stand out. My plan was to do a couple blue highlights on the car to make it morecohesive. I do have theoriginal 16” cup wheels, and they will go with the purchase of the car as well. The tires are still inexcellent condition but, unfortunately two of the original wheels have some bad curb rash.
Theinterior is in pretty good shape other than a few cosmetic issues that you cansee in the pictures. There are somesmall cracks in the dash, which is very common. It is very hard to find a 968 without any dash cracks. The driver seat has some cracking and therear seat has some small tears and the rear carpet under the rear glass is sunfaded.
Other items of disclosure include: The rear glass separated from the upper molding piece. I caulked it and it does not leak, however it will need to be pulled apart and put back together to fix it properly. I believe the cruise control is not working. I never try to use it, but for the purpose of getting it ready to sell I tried it out and it did not seem to work. Lastly, the driver door lock cylinder is not quite aligned properly as you have to jiggle it to get the key to turn.
If you are a Porsche enthusiast then you know what these cars are going for. I feel that I am very fair on my asking price considering the great mechanical condition it is in and the number of imperfections that need dealt with on the car. A $500 deposit must be paid at the point of online purchase. The full payment and pick up of the car must be done within 14 days of purchase. I will only accept cash (preferably) or certified check that I can verify atmy bank before release of the car. Text or call me if you are serious about the car and have any questions 801-657-9176.
