Description
2000 Porsche Boxster S(3.2 litre, 6 speed,6 cylinder), black with black leather interior, black soft top.
Extremely fast car, with incredible cornering ability and so agile -sticks to the road like nothing else. MUCH faster than standard 2.5Boxster. 0-60 in 5.2 seconds!
Serviced at Porsche dealer in April. IMS and RMS previously upgraded with LN Engineering upgrade.
Headlights upgraded to Xenons. Clear repeaters. Tinted side windows.
Brand new Alpine Type-R stereo – head unit, amp, speakers (totaling $1200), with Bluetooth. Original stereo available too.
Top is like new - replaced 2 years ago and hardly used (got a hard top so I don't need it!).
De-badged rear trunk lid.Logos included if you want to put themback on. The white Porsche logo down the side (GT3-esque) is easilyremovable, but I think it sets off the black beautifully.
Wheels are plasti-dipped matt black. This is removable to get back to stock wheels. Tires are excellent.
Cruise control, electric windows, power leather seats, power roof (goes up and down in seconds)
Stack of bills etc.Always garaged. Clean Carproof included. Mileage approximate as I am driving it :)
The car's paintwork looks stunning in black. You can see from thephotos that it looks fantastic. However, there is 'road rash' on the frontbumper and hood - you can see it in the photos if you zoom right in. Never been in an accident.
Faults: key doesn't remotely open the door.Maybe needs a newbattery? And the Check Engine Light sometimes comes on - but I have hadthis diagnosed: it is the secondary air system throwing the code - this is theemissions system for regulating emissions when the engine is cold;there is no emmissions testing where I live, so I haven't bothered to get itfixed. I have a firm quote for $275 to bypass the secondary air system (equivalent to a 'Rest of the World' tune), or you can get it fixed if it bothers you. There is also a small ding in one of the rocker panels - its barely noticeable but I'm mentioning it so I've covered everything
Reason for sale: I am buying a paddle-shift car. I’m Britishand used to changing gear with my left hand and find changing with myright awkward when driving fast :) So I’m getting a MkV VW GTI
I live a few hundred yards from Calais, Maine, about as far Northeast as you can get, right on the border with Canada. I am actually in Canada, and the car is registered here, although the car is originally from the U.S. It is therefore easy to re-import it back into the U.S. (and free I think?) and I am happy to help out with the import process (I know the guys at the border). I can also help you arrange shipping anywhere in Canada or U.S.. Main speedometer is still in mph, but the digital one is in kph - easy to get that changed back. The mileage is about 186,000 km (about 115,500 miles).
Factory hard top is not included in this auction, but is available for an extra $1500.
I think I've thought of everything but I'm happy to answer any questions
