Description
2002 porsche boxster 2.7l 986
8 months mot,
124000 miles
Full mainly Porsche service history
full black leather interior
hood has glass rear screen and recently re-died black
Original Porsche alloys with good tyres
Recently after buying the car i replaced the AOS, Vent Line & PCV this fixed the common smoking issue,
Car was great for a month or so, gave it a service, including new Bosch coil packs and plugs, both Oxygen sensors
I then removed the exhaust to replace the gaskets as there was a slight blow, whilst exhaust was off i started it to blow any crap out, it revved fine then died,,,
I then changed Crank sensor, all vacuum lines, connector pieces and intake seals, after this it started but only ran on 3 cylinders bank 1, occasionally it would fire on all 6, there was a noise from bank 2.
Parked it up for a while until i could find time to fix it,
so last week put a camera into the bores of bank 2 and could see all the intake valves were stuck open, very slight piston contact.
pulled cam cover and found plastic chain guide had broken causing intake cam to lock and chain to skip over exhaust cam sprocket burring teeth,
so polished pistons up ok, replaced bank2 head complete with all valves, replaced all lifters, as intake were slightly damaged and the rest were stuck, replaced exhaust cam, replaced chain guides, replaced plug tube seals.
pulled bank1 cam cover checked lifters and replaced all of them as they were also stuck, replaced plastic chain guides and plug tube seals.
tried to start car and it was only trying to fire on 2 and 3, rechecked timing and it appeared to be fine,
car still wont start, now it has locked, wont turn past a certain point, will move by hand in opposite direction so guessing another valve issue?
dont have time to pull the engine and rebuild it, so selling as spares repairs,
no v5 as i never recieved it, i used green slip to tax it and its taxed for another 2 weeks, reciept will be given.
nice winter project for someone.
Nothing removed.
£6k car priced to sell due to fault,
viewing inspection welcome car is located near rugby warwickshire,
delivery can be arranged uk only.
