Description

Re-listed at VERY low price (advertised elsewhere at £60k which is what it should be but need the garage space now) for immediate sale due to non-paying winning bidder who made no contact and de-registered from ebay once he'd won!
It also seems no matter how many times I write that it's a purpose built tube frame race/track only car people still keep asking about the road registration/v5 etc! It is a race/track ONLY car, obviously NO v5, it's tube framed, NOT road legal, it never has been or will be.
A holding deposit of £1,000 must be paid immediately upon sale, balance by bank transfer or cash on collection within 5 days. If you can't read all of the description so you know exactly what the car is and meet the above conditions please do not buy it.
This is a truly incredible car, air cooled 911 Turbo's are rocketing in value and this is a very special race version.
HISTORY - Originally built for the prestigious U.S.A. IMSA series, when the car ran a full 750hp 935 spec. engine. The car came to Europe and was totally re-built for the 1997/98 season of the British GT series, (The car was painted silver at that time and used in Avon tyres promotional advertising, I have an original framed poster to go with the car). The car kept a steel roof to comply with the rules, but features a full tube frame chassis throughout, with lightweight composite roock type GT2 panels. After several engine failures the budget ran out and the project was shelved after showing superb potential with several highly respected drivers racing it, including British F1 star tony trimmer.
Club Autosport purchased the car in 2003 and rebuilt it with a more reliable spec. engine. They competed on and off with the car in a Gold colour scheme, driven by Mark Chilton, due to having two cars in the Porsche Open series between 2005 and 2009. In the last year of Porsche Open they did the full season with this car taking most outright wins and winning Class One overall, with two wins at Anglesey, another two at Anglesey in the Irish Porsche Open. 1st place at the annual Ferrari v Porsche race at Castle Combe. 1st at Croft then 2nd at the Silverstone GP round.
The car then moved into the Eurosaloons series for 2010 with wins at Brands Hatch and Snetterton, finishing 2nd in the top class in the points after only competing in limited rounds.
The car was then not raced again until the 2013 Britcar 1000km Porsche Club support races, with a 2nd and a 1st in the final race.
Large history file with invoices and set-up sheets etc. Lead for Motec included. Lots of pictures of the car racing in period can be found on-line.

A video of the car winning its last race (with minimum boost to conserve tyres!) can be seen here face="Arial" size="4">A truly awesome racing car with a wide variety of applications to race or enjoy on the track with impressive power to weight. Should be eligible to take part in the prestigious GT Legends at the Silverstone Classic. Would also make a perfect basis to convert to 935 replica (IMSA tube framed 935,s are currently $500-700,000, DP 935 type replicas are around the £225,000 mark) or would make the ultimate track day car.
