Description
Renaultsport Clio 182 Race Car for sale.
Built and used in the 750 Motor Club K-Tec Racing Clio 182 Championship over the last two seasons.
The car was purchased privately as a one owner 182 ‘full fat’ with cup packs. The car had approximately 46k miles on the clock. This has increased to approx. 49k.
Soon after it went through its transformation into a race car. The majority of the work was done by Mark Fish Motorsport. Suspension setup was done by NADUK and I did the remaining work.
The car has been prepped to MSA standards, so can be used in other series and championships in the UK. Such as the Tricolour Trophy and various endurance and tin top championships.
Compulsory championship components fitted to this Clio are as follows:
K-Tec Racing Spax coilovers
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels
Dunlop Direzza control tyre (these are changing to Yokohama for 2016)
K-Tec Racing controlled ECU
Above and beyond the above items, I fitted the following Championship approved items:
K-Tec Racing (Vibratechnics) solid engine mounts
K-Tec Racing solid suspension top mounts
Bucks Automotive Alloy fuel tank (reduces weight and avoids fuel starvation)
I also removed the Air Con and installed a 182 Cup alternator setup (required for full A/C removal)
The car has been built with the following items:
Safety Devices 6 point bolt in roll cage - with cross door bars (increased safety over a single bar), with harness bar.
Safety Devices roll cage paddng
Safety Devices light weight 6 point harness
Cobra Suzuka GT width bucket seat
Cobra Alloy side mounts
Mark Fish Motorsport seat subframe
Lifeline 2000 manual pull fire extinguisher system
Push button electrical cut off system
Wired in Transponder (number will be supplied)
Piper Cross panel filter
Scorpion Sports Cat
Scorpion RS192 Sports exhaust system
CL RC6 front brake pads
Braided Brake lines
Brembo brake discs
Wheel Stud conversion
Rain Light
Front and Rear tow strap
Wide Angle Rear view mirror
Front and rear bonnet/boot pins
Sparco 350mm suede steering wheel & boss
Flocked dash top
Interior painted black
I will update the advert if I have missed any items off.
As you can see, the car is currently wrapped in vinyl. This can easily be removed if not to your taste or colour scheme. My name, number and sponsors decals have been removed. The car is all original black underneath, apart from the bonnet, which is blue.
This brings me onto the body work. The car has had a few bumps and knocks over this seasons racing. In my opinion, the bumper, bonnet and headlights would ideally be replaced. These items can be picked up cheaply used.
The rear quarters and doors have signs of racing contact/rubbings. I have never considered these to be bad enough to require fixing, but it would be a fairly straight forward job if you so required.
I feel that rather than spending on getting all these items straightened and fixed, bumping up the price, it would be better to sell the car as is and the new owner can make the decision what to fix.
The windscreen also needs replacing, due to gravel being thrown up at the last round at Donnington.
I am currently trying to obtain replacement parts, that I will supply with the vehicle or try and get them fitted (if time allows).
Otherwise the car is very solid and ready to race. The car hasn't skipped a beat all season and has been totally reliable. The engine and gearbox are solid with no issues.
I drove the car to 13th overall in the K-Tec Racing Championship this year, with the car weighing approximately 20 kilos over minimum weight. So someone who is lighter or wants to shed a few more kilos would have a very competitive car.
Car comes with V5 and 2 keys. I can also get the car MOT'd if the buyer would like.
I can also offer some spare’s for a negotiable price. Rear bumper, spare wheels, brand new Helix groupN clutch, brake pads, brake discs etc.
I also have a twin axle trailer that is less than 12 months old that is also available for £2000.
Whilst I know this Clio needs a small amount of work, its all cosmetic and feel my asking price reflects this. As this car cost me around £11000 to build and examples usually go for around £9000.
I am open to sensible negotiation (please note, offers of 2.5-5 thousand pounds are not 'sensible'). Cash on collection or bank transfer. Car is located just out side of Chichester, West Sussex.
Feel free to message with any enquires.
Grab a bargain and get on the starting grid in 2016!
