Renault Clio 1.5 Dci
80 Dynamique 2004 ,Winter Ready Rejuvenerated With A 27k Engine
RENAULT CLIO (X65) DYNAMIQUE DCI 80 MANUAL 3 DOOR HATCHBACK 1461CC DIESEL (GREEN) (2004) ; Refitted with a 27,000 miles engine, New Radiator and New Turbo ; comes with two sets of tyres (Winter steels and Summer Alloys), Currently on winter ready with the Steels.
The DetailsUp for sale is my 2004 '04' registration Renault Clio. 1.5 DCi. It is the 80 bhp Dynamique model, which was the range topping non-sport, model at the time. Given some coughs it had and as I needed a reliable car in December, 2013 I had it fitted with a 27,000 miles engine supplied by Bridgnorth Renault (5*), new cam belt, new exhaust, New Radiator, new tie rods, and bought a complete set of 5 steel wheels for winter drive. End September this year, CLio has been given a brand new Turbo, with the attendant change of filters, seals and two new tyres fitted on steel rims for better winter traction as the summer ones have been packed in the garage for the appropriate time.
I have owned this car since July 2013 and it has been used for my daily commute around Kent. Loved for its running ease and fuel economy, C’Lio carries my life and in return no penny has been spared from keeping this car in top form.
The current engine has only clocked 47,000. So though speedo now shows 170,000, in effect the New C’Lio with the younger engine, has only clocked clocked 47K ( i.e 170,-150 =20, +27), PRETTY VIRGIN for a diesel engine. I could have had the speedometer mileage corrected to 47,000 miles but my conscience said no, and left it to you the buyer to prefer honest truth or not.
If you are that luck buyer, you are buying a 75% New car at 20% of the cost, which given a separate set of 5 summer time alloy wheels, gives you unbeatable value.
I've had it serviced annually at a trusted mechanic ( Dealer employee)private garage. Service stamps in the book - 22/03/06 9810 miles, 21/03/08 27810 miles, 02/09/10 75433 miles, 23/04/11 94715 miles, 05/03/12 115527 miles.
I have had my fingers burnt by dealership servicing before, not mentioning their exhorbitant hourly rates, and paying their staff peanuts. I subsequently identify one of the dealers’ mechanical workshop staff and he comes and services my car from my house or let me take it to his backyard garage at his own time and services it. That gives me 110 % quality of work at a third of the cost and the money going directly into my colleague’s pocket as he tells me what materials to get and where. This is how C’Lio has been looked after. Hence after 2012, there have been no more stamps in the service manual and yet C’lio has received treatment from one of the top surgeons every time C’lio coughed,or approached MOT.
Comprehensive Description:C’Lio has a good spec which includes air conditioning (working well), CD player, alloys, sunroof, electric windows, ABS, power steering, remote central locking. The seats are very supportive and show very little wear for the age, the interior of the car is in very good condition.
The bodywork has some age related marks - a couple of stone chips to the bonnet and a crease-dent to the tailgate due to reversing into a post by the previous owner (see picture). While the driver belt works perfectly, it does not automatically sling back when it is clicked off .
MOT expires 12th October, 2016, so it is a Grab and Drive. The advisory on the MOT sheet was an oil leak, which was from the non-fully cleaned up residues from when my mechanic fitted the new turbo just before C’Lio went for MOT.
When it is running, the engine sounds really good and has Smooth power delivery and very good fuel economy as I habitually rev no higher than 3000 - my last tank of diesel gave me 73 mpg and 784 miles to the tank. Ofcourse in Summer with the lighter alloy wheels on, C’Lio just zooms to Destination at Least Cost. In winter with the current purpose fitted wheels, you can drive along with little worry of skiddy snow as C’Lio laughs past.
The tax for this model is only £20 per year, and (depending on your experience) my comprehensive insurance is £18 per month. Make me a sensible your offer, and faithful C'Lio is yours to save you costs.
Reason for selling:I need a bigger and roomier car as you all are about to congratulate me for me a ”cool” Grand Pa” and so must accommodate the buggy, Moses basket and all that the new citizens demand. So Dear C’Lio must go to another deserving home. I have manual and book pack, had two keys, but I have misplaced the other since we moved houses. I am looking for it. Roof and bike rack not included in sale.
Why Currently Steel Wheels and Not Alloys?
If you know, sorry for my teaching the fish to swim, and if you do not know, then benefit from my explanation.
Alloys are light, showy and sleek. Steels are bulky, steadier and grippy.
For Beauty and agile performance and better acceleration performance I put the alloys on in Summer. Otherwise the entire set is out in the garage.
NOWFOR WINTER I want the steel effect for the significant physical and psychological advantage of heavier wheeled tyres that bite the snow harder. It is called the Dampened Acceleration of unsprung weight.
When driving in snow, I love having a car with dampened acceleration and agility, giving me that very good confident sense of solidity and heaviness. So when I am for those no-nonsense daily drives, or on small low speed roads that are often poorly grit-spread, I turn to these tough, significantly stronger inexpensive, ugly workhorses of steels. Due to unsprung weight of the steel wheels, creates dampened acceleration and agility, making it drive more like a tank.
Payment and Collection:Lucky Buyer is advised to arrange to collect the car promptly. As all you need is to phone me in advance, jump on the train and ofcourse prepare to top-fuel it to take you to your destination unless you come from within 30 miles of myself, C’Lio will take you there on the available fuel in the tank. In any case please arrange to view the car before you decide to buy. Make me a sensible offer and C'Lio is yours.
Final Note:
This car needs to go to a deserving person, who will love it just as much as it is more valuable than the quoted price. You can find many clios on the net and elsewhere, even cheaper newer ones. ONLY THAT none of those have ever been so Looked after By A Dedicated Mechanic as My C’Lio has been; and None of those was ever owned by a conscientious person to whom this Dear C’Lio is as valuable as a Paramedic Van.
I will answer any question in as detailed a manner as possible.
Book now to view the car before you decide. Make me a sensible Nearest Offer and C'Lio is yours.
