Description

Welcome to the auction of my amazing Clio Trophy 182.
I bought this on a whim following a trip to the Nurburgring in Summer 2015 where a friend with a Clio 172 left my Porsche Cayman S for dead in the bends/corners. I returned to the UK thinking I need to get one of these brilliant pocket rockets. I set out with a budget of £1500 to buy a ropey but mechanically sound car to use for track-days, but two weeks later, the budget was blown and I bought a limited run (1 of 500) full history, 2 owner, factory standard, future classic, collectors item. Clearly too good to track, this car has never been on a track in my possession and the owner before me was a retired gentleman who owned two of these cars plus a limited edition Megane.
The car has 7 stamps in the service book with some accompanying invoices (including the important belt change invoice at 72k in July 2012). It was last serviced in April 2014 and the MOT runs until late August 2016.
The car was in great shape for a 10 year old car when I bought it but I am really picky so I had:
a 2 inch scratch on the rear bumper repaired by Chips Away (£144)
the worn thumb grips on the steering wheel replaced (£50)
both front wheels refurbished (£132)
four new Michelin tyres plus tracking checked - Jan 2016 (£430)
the headlamp washer blanks replaced with carbon fibre items (£40) and;
the dog-eared front splitter replaced by a carbon splitter from K-Tec (£120)
The car was also cleaned and polished inside & out to within an inch of its life.
The seats / carpets are immaculate.
If I were being picky, the car still needs a second key, there is some melting on the steering wheel (common problem) and a new owner might want to have the bonnet resprayed (although it is far from shabby and I think it would be a shame to lose the originality).
The car is amazing to drive, the ride is very hard but fantastic on good roads and has awesome grip in the dry. It is so light and powerful and picks up in any gear at any speed and loves to be revved. I drive like a monk but can still appreciate it's brilliance. If in doubt, have a look on YouTube at the Evo diaries of Harry Metcalfe's car.
Cherished number not included, will be on its original plates - FY55 PZS.
I've just taken delivery of a new car today so need to sell as it just won't get used.
Will add some more / better photos tomorrow but if you're looking for one of these, you know what they look like.
Cash on pick up or bank transfer before pick up only.
Genuine enquiries only please, no stupid offers, this car will sell for what it's worth or I'll just keep it.
Thanks for looking.
