Description
West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely striking and obviously exceptionally well maintained and very collectible example of this rare and last year of the legendary US LHD 'small chrome bumper' Rolls Royce Silver Shadows, a single family owned since new 1973 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with reportedly only 51K original miles and finished in the rare and beautiful original factory 'Caribbean Blue' (Code 9500683) color paint with its original 'Blue' (Trim code VM3244) color 'Connolly' leather hides interior and with matching Rolls Royce hubcaps and full Fawn carpeting and rear foot rests.
The all original striking factory color paintwork is in extraordinary and all original condition and this is quite likely the first absolutely all original examples cosmetically that we have yet to come across, with all the paintwork, leather and chrome work, including the Rolls Royce grille, in absolutely outstanding all original and stock condition throughout! The interior is also in virtually completely original condition throughout with its original leather seats and walnut woodwork. The leather dashboard is also original and in exceptional condition (always garaged from the sun) and the original mohair wool headliner is still virtually as new. The original and magnificent burled walnut woodwork is also in very fine condition throughout. All the power options and electric windows are working as they should as is the air conditioning.
These cars are not slow and the engine purrs like a kitten, never stalls or idles rough and is extremely reliable - there is plenty of power to pull away at the lights and it cruises at high speeds with absolute ease. The transmission shift is almost imperceptibly smooth and the temperature always remains cool.
The Silver Shadow cost an almost impossibly expensive $19,700 when introduced in 1965, more than three times as much as its contemporary US luxury sedan, the Cadillac Sedan de Ville and yet it was an absolute sensation with everyone from heads of state to captains of industry and celebrities around the world wanting to be seen owning one! Despite the increased production from Rolls Royce's earlier models, demand could not be met and there was a two year waiting list meaning that some enterprising individuals ordered, purchased and immediately resold these cars at a profit to someone lacking the patience for Crewe's two year wait! Rolls Royce eventually increased production to meet demand and by the end of the Silver Shadow run in 1980 there was a plentiful supply of used models available which has until recently kept the market prices down on these luxurious cars. But with fewer and fewer unabused and well maintained models being left available, with many having fallen victim to negligent owners who deferred the necessary maintenance, a stunning and obviously well maintained example like this particular car is sure to prove a very astute investment for any classic Rolls Royce or Bentley enthusiast. Most enthusiasts will agree that a good rule of thumb with any Silver Shadow is to buy the best you can afford!
It is truly a sensual car that you can drive with your fingertips, smooth and relatively silent, it's thoroughly therapeutic for both drivers and passengers. The delightful precision action of the electrically powered steering column gear change and the ultra light weighted power steering allows one to park this 5000lbs of pure luxury with literally one finger and this long but actually quite slender car is anything but ponderous thanks to it's torque and brilliant turning radius!
This particular model drives particularly well and must be driven to be fully appreciated. Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this all original rare and very collectible and super striking last year US LHD small chrome bumper model 1973 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, obviously always garaged with no accidents and no rust and always owned since new by obviously only very particular owners - never abused!
For those who are unfamiliar, Rolls Royce no longer exists as it had for over one hundred years. This is the last in the original line of cars hand built in the legendary Rolls Royce factory in Crewe, England with a quality and craftsmanship that far surpasses that of today's mass produced models with many BMW parts - this is indeed a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history, from a time when Rolls Royce was truly building the world's finest automobiles - a great investment for the Rolls Royce enthusiast or collector or simply an outstandingly striking example of a very rare and unusual looking Rolls Royce for the discerning luxury classic car owner!

Please contact seller first for vehicle availability. Although every effort is made to present accurate and reliable information, use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to verify the existence of options, accessories and the vehicle condition before time of sale. Any and all differences must be addressed prior to time of sale. No expressed or implied warranties, including the availability or condition of the equipment listed is made. EPA mileage estimates for comparison purposes only. Actual mileage may vary depending on driving conditions, driving habits, and vehicle maintenance.
The seller makes every effort to describe in detail any known flaws in the vehicle and includes many detailed and recent photos of the vehicle. The mileage on the vehicle is correct at the time of listing but obviously subject to minor changes necessary to complete delivery of the vehicle to the buyer and test drives etc. Please note that all used vehicles, especially classic and older vehicles, are by definition unique and complex and their condition, for better or worse, must always be considered a subjective opinion to each individual. Therefore the seller shall not be responsible for the absolute correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no guaranties or warranty in connection therewith. Vehicles are sold with one master key unless otherwise stated. Vehicles are sold with handbooks and manuals only if stated in the advertisement. Buyer hereby acknowledges that any definition or terms relating to a "matching numbers" description of any car has been met and the buyer has inspected the car and is satisfied with the description prior to bidding or purchase. No allowance will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value of the vehicle before bidding and to bid based upon that judgment solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs whatsoever regardless of any oral or written statements about the vehicle.
Mechanical inspections welcomed; if you wish to inspect the vehicle you must do so before bidding; upon request seller will be happy to deliver the vehicle to a local Torrance or Santa Monica mechanic of your choice for your prepaid inspection before the reserve price is met. Once the reserve price is met this vehicle is to be considered sold in ‘as is, where is’ condition to the highest bidder with no guaranties or warranties implied or given. Once again, please note that there are no inspections to be made after the auction ends - please be sure to complete any inspection before bidding.
Good luck and thanks for your interest.
