Description
Up for sale is my 1987 SAAB 900 Turbo, with lots of recent service done:
-Transmission was replaced with one from a 1989 model year car with approx. 90K miles (post-1988 900s had more robust transmissions).
-New clutch.
-New tires.
-Replaced coolant temperature sensor.
-Replaced idle air control valve.
-Replaced power steering reservoir hoses.
-Replaced valve cover gasket.
-Replaced brake master cylinder.
-Replaced ignition distributor.
This car always starts up on the first try and it runs reliably and smoothly. I drive it a lot in the summer and would love to keep it after all the work that has gone into it, but I am moving across the country and cannot take it with me.
The interior is in nice condition and the previous owner had the seats partially reupholstered. The color match is very close; only noticeable in bright sun (see photos). Power windows, mirrors, locks, antenna, and heated seat are all functional. Cruise control and A/C are not functional. The dashboard has no cracks at all.
The exterior is not perfect but cleans up nicely. There are a number of small rock chips, surface scratches, and a few small door dings visible from up close. The coating on the front and rear bumpers is faded and cracked in some areas. The underside of the car appears to have been nicely rustproofed by a previous owner and looks good. There is a really small amount of surface rust on one of the rear fenders, about the size of a nickel.
The hydraulic pistons for the power top were replaced and the motor does work, but the fluid reservoir needs to be resealed or replaced as it leaks fluid if operated. I choose to just raise and lower the top manually which is fairly easy to do; but this defect should be easily repairable. The top itself is not in the best condition (I believe it is original to the car), and should be patched up or replaced. It has several small holes/rips visible in the photos. The headliner, however, is in good condition. The car is kept in covered parking and never driven in rain or snow.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like any additional information on this car.
