Description

Very reluctantly I’m putting my 9-5 up for sale. I've owned this car since January 2012 (my 3rd 9-5) and loved every minute of it. It was first registered on 24th November 2003, and is a 2004 model saloon with a manual gearbox and 250bhp. The 9-5 revisions for 2004 models included black dashboard tops, new pixelated SID’s, the latest PCV (crankcase ventilation) mod, and for the Aero new bumpers and wheels. The car is finished in a colour called Hazelnut Metallic (code 286), with full Sand leather trim. Being a 2004 model, the standard specification included:
B235R 2.3T engine (250bhp) with a 5 speed manual box
AS2 7-speaker sound system
Electric Drivers Seat (no memory)
Heated front seats
Auto dipping internal rear view mirror
Xenon headlights
Aluminium dash trim
Split folding rear seats
I’ve made some subtle improvements during my ownership, which are as follows:
Engine:
Noobtune Stage 1 remap (275bhp)
Open SID
Abbott Racing 3in Cat-back exhaust
Forge Dump Valve
Samco silicone vacuum hoses
BCV Top Bolt Mod (isolates the EVAP system from the boost circuit)
Transmission:
Jack Daines rebuilt FM55 B05 gearbox
Quaife Limited Slip Differential
Jamsaab QuickShift
Taliaferro front transmission mount
Genuine Saab clutch & slave cylinder
Chassis:
Front suspension: Eibach springs & Hirsch shocks
Rear suspension: Abbott springs & Bilstein shocks
Powerflex bushes: subframe, anti-roll bars F&R, front wishbones
Wheels:
ALU39 10-spoke 7x17 with 235/45-17 tyres
Brakes:
Drilled & grooved front discs with OEM pads
RGF600 Racing Brake Fluid
HEL Braided 6-line kit in yellow (rears still in the box ready to fit)
Yellow painted front brake calipers
Body:
Hirsch style rear lip spoiler
Carbon-wrapped door mirror mounts
Saab Park Assist
Osram Nightbreaker H7 main beam bulbs
New Philips D1S Xenon dipped beam bulbs
ICE:
AS2 to AS3 upgrade (Harman Kardon amp & speakers)
Rear Infinity Kappa 6x9 2 way speakers
Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth system
Interior:
Genuine Hirsch pedal covers
Hand stitched perforated leather gearknob
The car ticked past 150,000 miles a couple of weeks ago, although it drives like it has half that mileage. There is plenty of service history with it, but I have done my own servicing in the time I’ve owned it. I have only used Mobil 1 fully synthetic, genuine Saab plugs & filters from ECP. The last service was in April, under 2000 miles ago, and included the cabin filter.
This is a fantastic car to drive - if you haven't experienced one before, they're an eye-opener. I replaced a BMW 330i (E46) with this car & it's so much faster. The Noobtune remap is a revelation, but doesn’t affect economy during everyday driving. The Quaife limited slip diff (fitted late in 2013) combined with the new genuine Saab clutch (& thrust bearing/slave cylinder) & Jamsaab quickshifter means amazing traction/acceleration & no more single wheel spin, the Abbott exhaust sounds lovely without being obnoxiously loud, and the suspension is so planted without being crashy/uncomfortable. There is no strange tyre wear thanks to the front suspension bushes by Powerflex.
There are a couple of very small dings from an inconsiderate 4x4 driver (or their kids) in a supermarket car park, done before I bought the car, a couple of marks on the front lower bumper (mostly as it’s pretty low), a couple of stonechips but otherwise very few general signs of wear & tear. The interior trim is in very good condition showing only very few signs of wear. The headlining is in excellent condition, and only the drivers door pull shows signs of age. I only ever got one key with the car, but a 2nd can be sourced from Saab or Ebay.
There are no warning lights showing on the dash or SID, and no OBD2 error codes logged.
During my ownership the car has never been on a track, nor driven particularly heavily. It’s been our main family car after all, so Stage 1 was as far as I wanted to take it. There is no sign of accident damage whatsoever. Everything works electrically, and parts I’ve replaced include:
Front Xenon level sensor & loom
Xenon bulbs (one of the old ones flickered)
Climate Control module (no missing pixels)
DI Cassette
Crank Position Sensor
ABS reluctor ring
New Bosch Battery (February 2014) with 3 year warranty
New front offside suspension top bearing fitted last week
The car is taxed and tested until December 2014. Tax is £285/year or £156/6 months. The last MOT was passed with no advisories whatsoever in December.
Please PM me any questions you may have but just to say, if I haven’t mentioned something in the spec, the car doesn’t have it – so no heated rear bench/memory seats/sunroof/sat nav/cd changer/elec folding mirrors.
The car is currently insured by me, and I have a valid V5 in my name. Test drives welcome, but you will have to produce your own insurance cert stating you can drive any car.
Thanks for looking – drop me a PM or post a reply to discuss further. The car is in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, AL5. Really close to Luton Airport / Midland Main Line, M1 J9 or 10, 35 miles from Central London.
Please remember, you're bidding to buy, not to view. Please press the 'ask seller a question' button if you need to ask anything or come along for a look. I reserve the right to cancel any bid if I think it's less than genuine - so message me if you're new to Ebay & considering a bid.
Many thanks :-)
