Description
Seat Alhambra 2002, 137,000 miles, 1.9 TDI Special Edition 5 door diesel manual (176g/km), 113bhp, 7 seats (incl. 5 quick release seats)
2 keys, electric windows, electric mirrors, cruise control, heated captain front seats (which swivel round), roll-out/removable parcel shelf, CD / tape player, trip computer, body coloured bumpers, alloy wheels, rear wiper, drinks holders, plenty of storage compartments, spare wheel, owners manual, Haynes manual, alarm, etc.
Seat service history up to 2/07/2012 with stamps and full log of Seat receipts (serviced at Holders of Congresbury, Bristol). From 2013 to now (since I have owned it) it has been serviced annually and has all receipts to prove, as well as all receipts for work carried out. MOT until June 2016. The car has passed its MOT first time for three years running, with some advisories.
Recent work:
May 2013 - Rear brake pads
- Cambelt, tensioners, auxiliary belt and water pump
July 2013 - Service and oil change
June 2014 - New front tyres
July 2014 - Oil and service
January 2015 - New brake pads, auxiliary belt and alternator pulley
June 2015 - Service and oil change
October 2015 - New centre and rear exhaust, brakes checked
November 2015 - New injector harness
I have spared no expense on maintaining this vehicle from a mechanical perspective. It has been incredibly reliable and such a joy after having had an unreliable Peugeot in the past. This 1.9 PD engine is great and has countless more miles in it yet. I have done 33,000 miles in it since I bought it and have travelled across Europe three times solo (totalling 6 months) and had no problems. I couldn’t find breakdown cover for such a long trip although I had no need for it. It has been a pleasure to have this vehicle.
Bodywork is reasonable overall for age, however there is a fair sized dent on the lower part of the back door (from first owner), some scuffs on the bumpers from careless parallel parkers and some minor dents on the doors from supermarket door openers(!)
Front tyres still have wear but will need replacing at some point.
There are a few things showing wear in the interior; the common tearing to the edge of the drivers seat (minor, and repairable), some faint marks and the odd scuff to trims but otherwise it is clean and good for the age.
There are parking sensors installed as standard however these sometimes do not work. I have had these looked at and the garage couldn’t spot the cause but I found I did not use them so have not had them replaced.
Air conditioning is again installed but not in use. The garage told me that the pipe into the compressor is disconnected so it would need looking at and re-gassing. Again, this is not something I felt necessary for my own use.
I used this vehicle both as a car and as a campervan for the long summer months. I made velco blinds for the back windows and a sliding curtain to split the cab for when using as a campervan. This can be removed in 1 minute with a screw driver. Similarly, there are velco tabs around the windows to attach the blinds (fixed with adhesive tape). These can easily be removed if desired. It was a pleasure to camp in as with seats removed there is plenty of space to sleep, and you can be completely undetected because from the outside, it just looks like a people carrier with blacked out windows.
This vehicle gets good economy for its size, depending upon driving style, type of roads and passenger/load, it returns between 42mpg - 70 mpg.
I am selling now because I now need a van with a bit more space for longer trips, and one I can insulate for more extreme weather conditions - hence I have just bought a T5 Kombi (with the same trusty engine), and pretty much the same configuration inside.
Viewing essential, this is a used vehicle and is sold as seen. Cash on collection.
