Description

Just found this car in a hardship sale situation. Background - Car was finished and registered around 2010, it was silver with a Chevy small block and an auto transmission. The owner before then decided to strip the body, had it painted "Henna Red" (its an early BMW M3 color) and switch to a ford engine and a 5 speed. He bought a 500HP/500ft/lb torq stroker 393 Windsor and a G-Force 5 speed and as he had little or no mechanical aptitude, he gave the car to the son of his landscaper (who was into cars!! yesvery scary!) put it back together. 12 months later the engine was in and pretty much nothing else had been done, at this point the owner had given up waiting and had bought himself a Super performance Cobra and he sold it.
The Car Now - just began finishing the brakes. I've added new calipers, rotors and pads, along with all new brake lines and twin high volume master cylinders, with remote reservoirs are ready for install. The first thing the next owner did was to install the correct engine mounts and transmission cross member and installed the driveline as per Shell Valleys directions. After that it's not your typical "Cobra" . I love the vintage le mans cars from late 60's early 70's and am a huge Barry Sheene fan, so they were going for that vibe. Lots of custom stuff here -
Exterior - Custom Hood Scoop. carbon fiber rear spoiler, cut down "race" drive side windshield, Raydot lightweight mirrors, custom carbon fiber stone guards, custom grills and badges, Torq Thrust wheel and knock/offs
Interior - carbon fiber skinnd dash, quick release steering wheel (choice of 2 leather wrapped wheels), custom black/red stitched diamond interior panels, kirkey low back roadster aluminum seats with custom covers, VDO gauges, custom switch/starter panel with lucas switches, brake bias adjuster, schroth harnesses (out of date for competition use, but fine on the street)
Drivetrain - 393 stroked Windsor (Edelbrock intake, comp cams top end, holley carb) 0 miles, 5 speed G-Force transmission (0 miles), custom headers, custom sidepipes.
Brakes/Suspension - 9" ford rear, coil overs, wildwood brake pedal, twin brembo low profile master cylinders (front/rear independent).
I have more parts in boxes and will have them all together prior to pick up. I just added new rotors on all fours and replaced all the brake lines. I have new master cylinders and wildwood brake pedal for install. Here are some other observations. Some of the black rivets have peeled and some of the black primer on parts needs to be re-done, but its all superficial. Car needs to be finished being re-assembled. It currently doesn't run and doesn't stop. You will need to finished plumbing the engine, do some wiring (the previous owner unplugged all the gauges and didn't mark anything, I started rewiring and I have the factory wiring diagram and assembly booklet). You will need to finish the brakes and general minor "detail"work. The car has a clean New York title and is registered as a 67 Ford Cobra. I wish I had some time for it. It's priced to move QUICKLY. Well over $40K invested without including labor. Priced as a steal.
