Description
2006 -10 restoration (1000 miles since) with completely rebuilt drivetrain. Marti report, build sheet, in Shelby registry. Car in Silicon Valley CA. Too many cars, need to sell one.
Originally built as Acapulco Blue car, both bias ply Goodyears and radials with car. Spare is 10 spoke CS wheel with Goodyear. Everything works great, top in great condition with boot. Repro carb and as new smog system all in place. The fog lights have black Lucas covers.
CD full of pics on bare metal repaint/restoration process. 2 boxes of late century trophies collected by previous owner before he passes in upstate NY as owner of a trucking company. Some history in the Shelby registry.
Link to about 68 428 CJ drivetrain numbers: We never have looked for any block numbers when the motor was pulled and rebuilt for the restoration. No one ever said it was not the original motor before or during the work.
The numbers on the 4 speed were not readable as-is when I stopped in and it was on the bench one day in 2010. The shop said "sorry" the bead blaster did not preserve them when the parts were sent out for cleaning, perhaps an expert could raise them and potentially add more value.
At this price this is an excellent time to make a fun, highly prized yet drivable and cheap to service, collector car investment. The prices are historically low on Shelby's making now a great time to buy
I know everyone wants a "well bought car", please do not contact me and make undervalue offers, and complain that I did not check the numbers. I will not go below 160K, which I consider well bought. We have over 250K invested to make it right and we will some back and the buyer gets a pampered solid, no surprises, classic Shelby KR,
Buyer alert - it does has the obligatory autographaph on the glove box which when I bought it was very special.
