2001 Skoda Octavia 4x4 Elegance Estate in Magic Black for Sale £11501.8T running on petrol/LPG5 Speed manual155300 miles (nothing for VAG with regular service)Comes with 2 keys/remotes.MOT 2nd of February 2016Service history with stamps in Service Book up to 86.000 miles + invoices from independent garages.
This is 4x4 edition of popular Skoda Octavia Estate build on VW Golf Mk4 platform. Rear axle with independent suspension and Haldex 4x4 system makes huge difference in handling. 1.8 Turbo engine deliver a lot of power and not bad on fuel.
We bought this car in a end of February this year as stop gap but love it so much so decide to keep it. During this 5 months Skoda done around 6500 trouble free miles including 4000 miles trip around Europe.
Engine serviced with new oil/filter at 150.000. Cam belt been replaced by previous owner at 130.000 miles. This engine (ARX) is same as Golf GTI and Audi A4 left factory with 150BHP on a bord but thanks to old owner( who was running remapping business) it's been PROFESSIONALLY remapped to 200+ BHP. Not aggressive set up like many companies doing around, more reasonable power and reliability.
In same time EMER LPG system was setted to much petrol performance but to cut fuel expenses.(240 miles on 44 litres of gas with price of 0.59/litre) LPG have certificate and car is registered as dual fuel.
4x4 Haldex system have upgraded ECU from Audi TT with faster respond so this car perform as Quattro under hard acceleration and on a sharp turns. Absolute fan on a twisted B type roads.
Everything in this car working as should. Brakes/gearbox/clutch/suspension all good. Really good set of Goodyear M+S tyres( a lot of thread left so will be still great for winter)
Interior is clean and tidy. Alpine stereo with build in hands-free system makes your busy life easier.
As all cars this have bad points as well.
1. Sunroof in not working(never bother me as Climatronic working perfect and Air con blows ice cold)
2. Paintwork been faded in few places( lacquer start to pill as many old VAG cars do) and previous owner decided to spray it him self. Result is not so bad from distance but on a closer look all imperfection is more visible. Hard to show on a pictures and doesn't looks so bad I just trying to be honest.
Apart from that this Skoda is good shape and with plenty of life left as we all know VAG engines are bulletproof.
Great family car/dog unit/work horse with big boot (with back seats down it's like a small van) and in same time real wolf in sheepskin( 0-60 mph around 7.5 sec). Not once I left behind me confused sport cars drivers.
Sadly due to problem with my back this seats are no longer good for me so I decide to go back to Volvo. It been fan and joy to drive it and gonna be shame to see it going.
