Description
This is a special , classic 1957 Studebaker Commander V8 sedan, painted specially for my daughter's wedding ,10 years ago. It has been stored indoors, or under cover since then. The paint is a custom finish :a stunning, colour- shifting metallic flake, with sparkles added. Body is straight , original, '57 heavy metal ,with perfect trunk floor. There is a small rust-out in the front passenger toeboard, from a missing splash shield. Splash shields inside front of rear fenders need some repair. Engine is an original, sweet- running 259 cu. in. Studebaker V8, (not a Chevy) with automatic transmission , showing 85,039 miles. Starts and runs fine : new sparkplugs and oil change. Dash and steering wheel in great shape. Lights, signals, and horn work. All locks work; windows go up and down. Original, worn seats need an upholstery kit ( Kanter's) ; and a headliner kit is also needed (Kanter's). Windshield is cracked on passenger side; both front door glass cracked (flat glass, easy to obtain). Brand new taillight lenses just installed. Two bumper jacks included. New brake master cylinder, 4 new wheel cylinders, new flexible hoses included, but not yet installed, as we do not wish to immobilize the car during forest fire season. Car has brakes sufficient to move around, and to load on trailer, or deck. With the exception of the gorgeous, special paint, this car is in original, unrestored condition. Period hood ornament is similar to Packard . Packards after 1956 were Studebaker bodied. Chrome and stainless trim complete ; 'V8' emblems , 'Commander ' scripts , and ' STUDEBAKER' letters are stored separately, for safekeeping - the mounting holes are still there. This would make a great Wedding car for a limousine service, or an eye-catching advertisement for your business or company! Not yet a daily driver. The low asking price is commensurate with a work in progress. Finish it to your taste, and make it your own! Reluctantly offered at $ 4,950.00 USD. Clear title, B.C. registered, Located in Salmon Arm, B.C.. Canada. V1E 2Y3 (250) 804-4853 . John
