Description

Originally an Arizona truck, purchased by a New Jersey Studebaker Enthusiast who had the vehicle transported to him around 2008-10. I purchased in 12/2015. Champ is equipped with the wide 8 ft bed which is in excellent condition, the engine is a full flow 289 factory replacement engine which was in the truck when the NJ owner purchased it. The transmission is the New Process 5 speed overdrive, a Studebaker option in 1962. It has a twin traction rear differential. The cab and doors are excellent other than the left rocker panel has a rust through ( I have replacement rocker panels which go with the truck). The left front fender is solid but shows signs of starting to bulge along the back edge. The right fender has a rust through at the leading edge just above the headlamp. The prior owner bumped a deer and wrinkled the right fender and header (I have a good used header to go with the sale). Paint is mostly original and nearly down to primer over most of the vehicle. New Clutch and PP in Sept of 2017. The truck has black carpet, black vinyl bench seat and replacement door panels (not sure what the panels were made to fit, some type of Lark or Champ but the fit perfectly on the truck). Mileage is unknown, it was listed on the title as 107,000 when I purchased it in 2015. It has an electric fuel pump and starts up quickly, no engine smoke. She has the typical Studebaker engine oil leaks but none more than normal. I had intended to do a complete rebuild but found and purchased a 1960 Champ that had a ground up restoration. I purchased new weather strips, window channel runs, sliding rear window runs, etc. from Studebaker International in anticipation of doing a repaint. I have a new front fender patch panel, and other misc replacement parts (over $750 invested) which go with the truck. The truck is located east of Lancaster, Pa. Contact me through E-bay if you want to see the truck. The buyer will be responsible for transporting the vehicle from my home to it new home. I've attempted to describe the vehicle as best I can but if you have any questions feel free to ask. Buyer will need to put 10% down through pay pal at time of auction closing and certified check or cash prior to vehicle pick up.
