Full size photosThis 1952 Studebaker Champion Regal Starlight Coupe is a super cool entry level classic car with an upgraded "Bullet Nose" front end. When World War II veterans returned triumphantly from the War, their appetites for new cars were voracious and the American car manufacturers could barely keep up with this new demand. As a result, the Studebaker Corporation emerged from World War II in its best financial condition since the start of the Great Depression. However, by the early 50s, the supply of new cars had finally caught up and consumer demand had tapered off a bit.Studebaker had reinvested a substantial part of its post-war profits into its manufacturing facilities yet the company's profits began to taper off.1952 was Studebaker's 100th Anniversary and its Champion models received a new look.Gone were the "Bullet Nose" front ends, and introduced were the "V" shaped hoods and grilles.Nonetheless, the Studebaker Bulletnoses remain a highly desirable look in the collector car world, harkening back to a Golden Era for Studebaker.Today, many restorers choose to put Bullet Noses on their '52s to give them that classic look.In 1952, the Champion was offered in 3 trim levels, the entry-level Custom Line, the mid-level Deluxe Line, and the premium Regal Line. One way to differentiate the top-of-the-line Champion Regals from the lower level lines is that the Regals have stainless trim running from the front fenders to the rear.Under the hood on this Regal Starlight Coupe is an upgraded GM 4.3 Liter V6 Engine with a Single 4 Barrel Carburetor that likely has a bit more power and reliability than the original Studebaker 6 cylinders found in in the '52 Champions.Dual exhaust gives this Starlight Coupe a nice throaty sound.Anybody can drive this '52 Champion because it is equipped with an Automatic transmission.Power brakes with a dual master cylinder have been added for improved stopping power. The exterior on this 52 Studebaker Starlight Coupe has been repainted in an eye-catching Light Blue.Whitewall Radial Tires with Baby Moon Hubcaps provide an improved ride on this classic Studebaker and complete the exterior look of the car.The beige cloth bench seat interior appears to be stock and provides a roomy interior 5 passengers.A steering wheel spinner knob has been added to the stock steering wheel along with aftermarket turn signal controls. The instrument cluster has been tastefully upgraded to include a 120 MPH speedometer, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, amp gauge, and fuel gauge, and the stock-looking radio remains tucked under the dash.If you're looking for a unique, entry level classic car, this 1952 Studebaker Champion Regal Starlight Coupe would be an excellent choice.Give us a call today!
