Description
Up for sale from Studebaker Central is our 1960 Lark VIII Regal. This is a really great driver in wonderful shape for its age. The 1959 and 1960 Larks were among the best looking cars of the early sixties and this Lark is in Williamsburg green which you don't see very often. It's a wonderful example of an American icon. The drive line is totally original. It is a 259 with a two barrel and single exhaust and it is a three on the column with overdrive that works perfectly. This car will cruise all day long at 80. The brakes have been recently serviced with new master and wheel cylinders. The car has 205 radials on it and rides very nicely. The interior is completely original and in pretty good shape for 58 years old. There is a separation where the driver sits as shown in the pictures. There is a very small split (1/2 inch) on the dash pad. The carpets are original and it still has the production sheet under the rear carpet; still has the color code under the glove box. The radio works. The trunk pads are original. You can get in this car and drive it anywhere. Please come save it.
I have been in the Studebaker Driver's club for 45 years and have several cars but I can no longer care for them as I always have and can no longer work on them the way I should. I have lots of projects and lots of parts including heads, starter motors, fenders, doors ,hoods, trunks, glass and stuff I haven't seen in years. There are Hawks, Avantis and Larks here, even one Champ.
This Lark has the typical patches on the front fenders but there is no rust in the floors or in the trunk. The frame is excellent. The car has been repainted once in its original Williamsburg green. The door jambs and inside the trunk were not repainted. The 68,000 miles on it are to my knowledge original and accurate.
If you have any questions write to me or call me at 860 819 1931 and we will talk.
This is a no reserve auction for a reliable and really good looking classic. Don't miss out.
Connecticut does not title older cars. I kept the New Jersey title from the previous owner which is signed by that owner but "open" for the new owner.
