Description

This has been re-listed due the previous winning bidders (previously auctioned) not reading the listing correctly. Please read the listing carefully before making contact.
I bought this vehicle to use as a second car for me as the missus has the main vehicle. Unfortunately I gave little thought to the fact that Subaru's are not designed for a 6'4" 21 stone giant and as much as enjoy driving the vehicle i get find myself too large for it.
This lovely Outback currently has had only two owners, however the first owner was the Subaru dealer as it was pre-registered. Hence the second owner is essentially the first owner and he has covered 99.9& of the 165k miles. The vehicle has been maintained by Subaru in Kendal and Carlisle, then later by Athersmith Motor Services in Ulverston.
I spoke to Athersmiths before I bought it and found them very helpful. They confirmed that they had looked after the vehicle for quite some time and although the customer maintained it very well they also found it very reliable and only really needed wear and tear items. It had apparently belonged to a friend of the owner.
I then spoke to an Independent Subaru specialist who confirmed that the 2.5 engine as fitted to this vehicle is one of the most reliable engines Subaru made. Apparently the engine is a non-turbo version of the Impreza Turbo engine and as such is very under stressed. It has been known for these engines to do astronomical mileage easily pushing 3-400k with regular oil changes. The vehicle is painted in a subtle gold colour which goes very well with the recently refurbished deep anthracite alloy wheels. The interior looks like its only done 20k and the leather is very comfy, the heated seats will be most welcome with the colder nights closing in. A panoramic sunroof gives a very open feel to the vehicle and the frame less windows are a nice touch as well. The 168bhp 2.5l flat four boxer engine is very sprightly considering the mileage and a testament to the maintenance regime the vehicle has held. The body work is generally good but there are a few knocks and scratches including on the front glass which is only really noticeable in strong sunlight.
Since I bought this I kept hoping I would adjust to it and allow me to keep it but alas it is not to be, however in the mean time I have had all four wheels refurbished in dark anthracite (looks very nice). The spare is a steel with brand new Yokohama tyre.
I have replace the from Lamda sensor literally two days ago as it was putting a light up on the dash, And changed a rear door latch which had failed (needed to for the MOT)
It comes with a FULL years MOT, the only advisories were the front suspension bushes, which at only £20 each I would have changed if I were keeping it. The brakes occasionally make a slight scuffing noise which I have put down to the vehicle being stood for some time as I have done less than 400 miles in it. and the clock doesn't work, which may or may not just be a bulb as I haven't looked, but can't imagine it's terribly complicated.
In all this will make an excellent vehicle for a family as a main or second car and it certainly is a more interesting alternative to the Mondeo and Insignia Brigade.
Item is cash on collection, vehicle is not taxed so you would need to tax it before leaving, or arrange a trailer etc.
Any questions please PM me. Vehicle is sold as seen, with no warranty given or implied.
