MY01 WRX Impreza
• Newly tuned by S&J – EcuTek 200wkw $1850
• 06 STI Forged Short Motor, 75,000kms done since full engine rebuild. Receipt from S&J Automotive – long country km’s
• Reconditioned Gearbox, 55,000kms since full rebuild. Receipt from S&J Automotive
• 5 Speed Manual
• STI Spec VF34 Genuine IHI ball bearing turbo
• Larger injectors
• S/S header manifold
• 3” to 2.5” full S/S exhaust – sounds awesome
• New front CV shafts, receipt
• New front wheel bearings
• New fuel pump
• APS intercooler
• 2” Boost, Oil pressure and Clock gauge on custom center dash board fiberglass mount
• New optima yellow top battery
• New MAF sensor
• New radiator
• Mag filter (oil filter magnet)
• Turbo timer – hidden
• New tyres
• New front windscreen
• New front door window tint
• ULX-110 and genuine Suburu filter always used every 5000km - Just serviced
• Lady owner
• Subwoofer amp wiring in to boot
This car was bought cheap from an auction interstate, and it soon became present why after a professional service at S&J Automotive. The engine was breathing heavily and the boost was up at around the 24psi mark, the car had been flogged and needed a new engine, not a bargain after all. With the advice and help of S&J we decided to go down the path of buying a new 06 STI short motor and adapting the reconditioned heads from the previous EJ20 engine. The engine since has not missed a beat, the factory boost solenoid was bypassed and the waste gate was plumbed directly to the compressor housing. The AFR’s were measured and they were safe, with boost slowly climbing to a maximum of 14psi. (Stock boost), the car ran like this for nearly 4 years as it put a dent in the pocket. Not long after the engine was renewed second gear broke, common occurrence in a flogged five speed transmission. So once again it was back at S&J’s receiving a full gearbox refurbishment with factory components. Only until just recently the car was put back into S&J’s hands to undergo a full tune which returned a great result! 200 wheel Kw’s is more than enough for a car of this size. (18psi) I have all of the receipts on the repairs.
Thousands have been spent on this car, and for that reason it will be sad to see it go – to pay for O/S holiday. Has stone chips on front bumper and bonnet, pay attention to pictures
