Description
Selling a 1963 Sunbeam Alpine that I've been working on for the last 2-3 years It’s a beautiful car rust free car that is complete.. I bought it from a British car shop in Seattle where the owner had it for many years and was retiring. He had primed the body and to the best of my knowledge there was no rust and did not have accident damage. Very nice straight body, doors, bonnet, truck all fit very well. At the time I bought the car it was reasonably complete and had the original engine that needed to be rebuilt. Over the past few years I have been locating missing parts. Actually bought 2 different parts cars to locate hard to find parts. I’ve rebuilt many parts, had parts rebuilt, bought tons of new parts and have gotten the car nearly complete.
I’m not new to this, I’ve been rebuilding British sports cars for years. I know my limits. I know what I do best and I know where to bring in proper professionals to assist such as engine rebuild, bodywork/paint and electrical.
It’s been repainted with an original color of the era and is not perfect but looks great (a partial can of paint is included for final touchups). The engine has been professionally rebuilt by a race car engine rebuilder. Engine has been started very briefly to ensure it’s a running engine after rebuild. We've been working on the wiring and cabs prior to running the engine for a longer period of time.
The car has been reassembled. The interior is complete but the seats have not been bolted in and new carpet has not been installed until final wiring adjustments to electrical are made to dash. New softtop has remained uninstalled. It’s ready to be completed.
For what’s remaining, I simply do not have the time or knowledge to complete the final adjustments on my own. And a British car mechanic who was assisting with the final engine set up passed away unexpectedly last month. This is where things stopped. So, I think it’s time to let this vehicle go.
As you probably know, a lot of dollars and time have been put into this car. Many of the parts have bought new and are installed and others have been located and rebuilt. I honestly feel it's 100% compete but I might be missing something.
Here’s a list of rebuilt and new parts that I can recall:
